To earn a three-star rating on Savana Level 1 (Stage 11-1) in Hexapolis - Civilization game, you must eliminate all enemy factions within 25 turns. Select the Archer hero before starting so you can engage enemy melee units without receiving counterattack damage. Secure early economy upgrades in your capital, expand south to capture neutral villages, and transition into Catapults and Swordsmen to breach the final southern settlements before the turn limit expires.
Turn 1–3 Opening Moves
Your initial priority is leveling your starting capital, Hinnery, while moving south through the fog of war toward neutral territory.
- Upgrade Hinnery: Research Organization (5 Gold) to unlock fruit harvesting. Harvest the adjacent fruit tile to raise Hinnery to Level 2, and select the Workshop upgrade to gain +1 gold per turn.
- Scout South: Move your starting Warrior southward to locate the nearest neutral village.
- Train Ranged Support: Unlock Archery (5 Gold) and recruit an Archer (5 Gold) to support your hero and Warrior against red faction scouts.
- Capture Ambag: Move your Warrior onto the discovered village to establish Ambag by Turn 3.
Use your Archer hero and standard Archer to whittle down incoming enemy units around Ambag from a safe distance, keeping your melee forces healthy for future expansion.
Early Economy and Technology Priorities
Savana Level 1 contains fertile fields and forests around Hinnery and Ambag. Developing these tiles quickly generates the income needed to support multiple combat fronts.
| Technology | Gold Cost | Unlocks | Primary Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organization | 5 Gold | Fruit harvesting | Enables the initial Level 2 upgrade for Hinnery |
| Archery | 5 Gold | Archer unit, Hunter's Hut | Safe ranged attacks and animal resource gathering |
| Farming | 7–8 Gold | Wheat Farm | Upgrades cities via fertile field tiles |
| Forestry | 7–10 Gold | Lumber Hut, Sawmill | Converts savanna trees into city population |
| Shields | 8 Gold | Defender unit | Fortifies front-line city garrisons against counterattacks |
| Free Spirit | 7 Gold | Monument | Grants +3 population to accelerate city milestones |
When upgrading cities to Level 3 and Level 4, choose City Walls on vulnerable front-line hubs like Ambag to repel enemy assaults. Select Border Growth in secure rear settlements to bring distant wheat and forest tiles into your territory.
Securing the Central Corridor
Once Ambag is established, divide your focus between securing your western flank and pushing south against the red faction.
- Fortify Ambag: Position a Defender or fortified Warrior inside Ambag to absorb enemy pressure. Place two ranged units directly behind the settlement to eliminate advancing red Warriors and Archers without taking damage.
- Capture Padstow: Send a Warrior west from Hinnery to uncover a second neutral village, securing Padstow around Turn 6. Develop its surrounding forest tiles with Lumber Huts to turn it into a dedicated production base for western forces.
- Take Eastham: Push south from Ambag toward the red faction city of Eastham. Use your Archer hero and supporting ranged units to reduce the garrison's health before moving in a full-health melee unit to seize the city around Turn 11. Capturing Eastham breaks the red faction's central defense and opens the southern routes.
Breaking the Southern Strongholds
After Turn 12, enemy resistance increases around water choke points with higher-tier units such as Defenders and Swordsmen. Transition into heavy siege units to clear the remaining cities before Turn 25.
- Deploy Siege Weapons: Research Mathematics and Smithery to produce Catapults (10 Gold) and Swordsmen (7 Gold) out of Eastham and Ambag. Position Catapults behind your front line to break enemy Defenders holding walled cities.
- Advance on Two Fronts: Split your army into two strike forces. Advance down the western coastline from Padstow and Eastham to take Cirencester around Turn 16. Simultaneously, push your eastern forces through the tree line to secure Alverton around Turn 17.
- Trigger Late City Milestones: If a captured settlement requires one additional population point to spawn a front-line Giant or push out an adjacent enemy, research Free Spirit and construct a Monument (10 Gold) or build a Bakery near existing Wheat Farms.
- Take Lullin: Converge all surviving Catapults, Swordsmen, and ranged units onto the final southeastern stronghold of Lullin. Bombard the garrison, eliminate remaining defenders, and move a melee unit into the city by Turn 21 to finish the stage within the 25-turn requirement.

This saved me time in the early game.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
This helped me understand early game much better.
