To unlock and level Sigils in IdleOn - Idle RPG, open the World 2 Alchemy menu, navigate past the liquid cauldrons to the Sigil tab, and assign your characters directly to an available Sigil node.

Sigils provide passive, account-wide stat bonuses to your entire family. Unlike standard Alchemy bubbles, Sigils cost no liquid or monster resources. Instead, they require dedicated real-time charge hours from your character roster to unlock and upgrade.

How the Sigil System Works

Sigils function as sequential tech trees within the World 2 Alchemy feature. Each branch must be unlocked linearly: you cannot start charging an advanced Sigil until you complete the base unlock of the preceding node in that branch.

  • No material costs: Unlocking and upgrading Sigils requires only accumulated charge hours.
  • Simultaneous activity: Assigning a character to a Sigil does not stop them from fighting, gathering, or performing active gameplay loops.
  • Cauldron trade-off: Characters assigned to Sigils do not contribute work rate toward discovering new cauldron bubbles or brewing cauldron levels.
  • Baseline charge rates: Characters generate a default rate of 1 charge per hour. This rate increases with specific Mage and Shaman class talents, laboratory bonuses, and passive Alchemy boosts.

Assigning Characters Efficiently

Because partially charged Sigil nodes grant zero stats until the threshold is met, avoid splitting your roster across multiple nodes. Concentrate all available character slots on a single target Sigil to unlock its bonuses immediately before moving to the next.

If your account still needs early World 1 and World 2 cauldron bubbles, do not place your entire roster onto Sigils. Keep your highest-level Mages brewing on primary color cauldrons until your fundamental bubbles are unlocked, then shift remaining characters to Sigils.

Early Sigil Priorities

Focus your first charge hours on nodes that provide universal combat and drop-rate multipliers. Specialized skilling nodes offer lower immediate returns for an entire account.

Upgrading to Gold Tiers

Every Sigil has two completion tiers: the base unlock and the boosted "Gold" tier. Once a node reaches its base charge goal, its passive bonus activates immediately. Leaving characters on that completed node begins accumulating charge toward its Gold upgrade, which typically doubles the base effect or adds a secondary percentage multiplier.

Apply a split upgrade strategy based on the Sigil's utility:

  1. Powerhouse nodes: Push global damage, drop rate, and Alchemy utility Sigils directly to Gold tier before moving your roster to other branches.
  2. Pathway nodes: For minor skilling or niche utility nodes, stop charging as soon as the base tier activates. Move your characters to the next node in the branch, leaving the Gold tier for later account cleanup.
