To quickly craft multi-tier equipment in IdleOn - Idle RPG, click the icon of any intermediate crafted item inside the Anvil requirements box to jump directly to that item's recipe tab. This built-in shortcut bypasses manual tab navigation across worlds when preparing upgraded weapons, tools, and armor.
How to Navigate Crafting Chains
The Anvil organizes recipes across numbered tabs tied to world progress and task unlocks. When an advanced recipe requires a lower-tier tool or an earlier crafted piece of gear, you do not need to exit the menu or scroll through individual tabs to locate it.
- Open the Anvil directly in town or through the Quick Ref tab in your Codex.
- Select your target recipe to view its crafting requirements.
- Click the icon of any prerequisite crafted item listed in the materials panel.
- The Anvil will instantly redirect to that specific precursor's recipe page.
- If that precursor also requires an earlier item, click its prerequisite icon to move another tier down the production chain.
This reverse navigation lets you trace an entire production tree down to the base tier. Once you reach the lowest tier you can currently make, craft it, use the shortcut to move to the next tier up, and build back toward your target item.
Managing Bag Capacity and Inventory Space
Multi-step gear progression requires balancing base equipment slots with bulk material stacks. Advanced recipes demand high quantities of bars, logs, and mob drops, while intermediate tools and gear do not stack.
- Check Material Bag Stack Limits: If an intermediate step requires more resources than your profession bag can hold in a single inventory slot, you cannot craft it. Upgrade your material pouches through vendors and Anvil recipes before starting large multi-tier upgrades.
- Withdraw in Stages: Do not withdraw all raw materials for the final product at once. Inspect the lowest recipe in the chain first, withdraw only the items needed for that stage, and craft the base piece.
- Reserve Open Inventory Slots: Keep at least two slots open in your main inventory so newly crafted intermediate gear does not drop to the ground.
Troubleshooting Recipe Jumps
If clicking an item icon in the recipe window does not redirect your Anvil page, verify the following conditions:
- The Recipe Is Unlocked: The shortcut only navigates to recipes your account has already discovered and redeemed via recipe scrolls, task board unlocks, or quest rewards. It will not display locked or unredeemed recipes.
- The Item Is Crafted at the Anvil: Only components produced directly through Anvil tabs support the jump shortcut. Materials obtained from town vendors, the World 3 Salt Refinery, Alchemy liquids, or standard monster drops must be gathered from their respective sources.
