World 4 in IdleOn - Idle RPG shifts progression away from solo character farming and introduces a town-wide synergy loop across three skills: the Laboratory, Cooking, and Breeding. Progressing requires placing characters in the Laboratory mainframe to power passive account bonuses, winning Territory Battles with combat pets to forage spices, and feeding those spices into kitchen tables to level account-wide meal buffs.
---
Setting Up the Laboratory Mainframe
The Laboratory functions as an account-wide network. Uploading characters into the mainframe console generates an energy line that connects across the grid. Your primary goal is routing this line across inactive nodes and jewel sockets to activate their bonuses.
A character's connection range depends on their line width, which scales with their individual Lab skill level and specific talent bonuses. Characters with large line widths can bridge wider gaps, reducing the total number of characters required to sit in the mainframe.
When routing energy, prioritize nodes that double 3D Printer sampling output and increase portal kill counts. Jewel sockets grant high-tier multipliers, but they remain inactive unless your line physically touches the socket and your account satisfies the specific gem requirement.
Do not park characters in the Laboratory if they fail to reach an active node or jewel. If a character cannot complete a connection to a functional target, assign them to portal pushing or combat leveling instead.
| Mainframe Feature | Primary Function | Management Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Nodes | Account-wide passive multipliers | Path energy directly toward 3D printer doubling and portal kill bonuses. |
| Jewel Sockets | High-tier stat bonuses | Connect only when you meet the socket's specific gem requirements. |
| Console Chips | Individual stat enhancements | Equip rotating daily chips that match the character's designated role. |
| Line Width | Distance between linked characters | Level the Lab skill to span wider gaps using fewer roster slots. |

Upgrading Cooking Kitchens and Discovering Recipes
Cooking grants permanent, account-wide stat bonuses through meal levels. These bonuses include increased damage, higher skill efficiency, accelerated cooking speed, and faster egg incubation.
Kitchen tables require coin investments across three distinct upgrades:
- Fire Luck: Increases the success rate when attempting to discover an unlearned recipe using spices.
- Cooking Speed: Accelerates the rate at which an active meal generates dishes and levels up.
- Meal Cost Reduction: Lowers the quantity of cooked dishes required for subsequent meal upgrades.
Focus coins and early resources on boosting Fire Luck on your primary table before expanding into multiple tables. High Fire Luck prevents failed recipe attempts, conserving rare spices gathered from Breeding.
Once a recipe is unlocked, shift table upgrades toward Cooking Speed. Hold your instant-cook Ladles until base cooking speeds are sufficiently leveled, ensuring that each ladle yields maximum dish volume.

Breeding Pets, Territory Battles, and Spice Foraging
Breeding supplies the raw ingredients needed for Cooking. Hatching eggs in the incubator produces combat pets with varying power ratings and tactical abilities.
Advancing in Breeding requires competing in Territory Battles to conquer new zones:
- Assemble a Balanced Team: Position durable tank pets in the front row to absorb incoming damage, backed by high-damage attackers and support buffers.
- Clear the Territory: Defeat all enemy waves to permanently unlock the zone.
- Assign Foraging Pets: Assign spare pets to the cleared zone. Foraging pets produce spices on an hourly basis scaling with their total combat power.
Spices gathered through foraging cannot be acquired through standard combat, making continuous pet territory pushes mandatory for unlocking higher-tier kitchen recipes. Invest in fenceyard storage and egg capacity upgrades to manage breeding stock and preserve high-power pets for future battle tiers.

The World 4 Daily Management Cycle
Laboratory, Cooking, and Breeding reinforce one another in a direct sequence. Maintain this daily rotation to avoid progression bottlenecks:
- Claim Foraged Spices: Collect accumulated hourly spices from pets assigned to conquered territories.
- Attempt New Recipes: Spend newly gathered spice combinations at kitchen tables with high Fire Luck to discover missing meals.
- Level Up Existing Dishes: Channel passive cooking speed into discovered meals that increase cooking speed, pet incubation rate, and player damage.
- Rebalance the Mainframe: Review character line widths as Lab levels rise. Reposition roster members to reach newly unlocked nodes, or pull surplus characters out of the Lab to push portals once fewer bodies are required to bridge gaps.
