Junk Hero Team Composition and Positioning Guide

To clear campaign stages and beat difficulty walls in Junk Hero, build a balanced squad featuring one front-line defensive anchor and at least two back-line ranged attackers. Manual positioning and concentrated resource investment are required to maintain high damage output while preventing fragile units from getting wiped by incoming enemy waves.

Squad Roles and Formation Setup

A viable team composition relies on role distribution rather than stacking raw attack stats. If you deploy a squad consisting entirely of squishy ranged attackers, fast-moving enemy mobs will collapse your line and quickly wipe out your team.

Spread your deployment: Avoid clumping damage dealers together. Spacing heroes across the arena forces incoming enemies to divide their attention, reducing total damage taken by any single unit.
Intercept spawn vectors: Observe where enemy mobs enter the stage. Place your melee anchor directly in their movement path to capture aggro before enemies reach your back line.
Kite with ranged units: Manually drag ranged heroes away from approaching melee mobs. Retracting squishy units while your anchor maintains engagement lets your attackers maintain damage uptime without taking hits.

Hero Upgrades and Resource Priority

Resource bottlenecks will halt your progression if upgrade materials are spread evenly across your entire collection.

Limit main investments: Concentrate upgrade resources strictly on a primary team of three or four core heroes. Keeping a core carry squad at maximum power levels relative to your account tier is more effective than under-leveling a large roster.
Prioritize crowd control utility: When choosing which heroes to push past level thresholds, invest in units possessing stuns, slow effects, or shielding over pure single-target damage dealers. Utility scales better when enemy health pools spike in later campaign stages.
Adjust compositions to stage threats: If a campaign stage wall features heavy melee waves, swap in a secondary hero with knockback abilities. If enemy ranged units are killing your team, swap in defensive shields or high-mobility units to reach back-line threats.
