To clear the Bolgur's Throne Iron Challenge in Kingdom Rush Vengeance TD+, concentrate your defense at the central intersection where the upper and lower tunnels converge. Iron Challenge rules give you only one life, grant fixed starting gold, and restrict mid-stage tower tier upgrades. Leaking a single enemy causes instant defeat.

Because King Bolgur does not fight as an active boss in this challenge, your success depends entirely on surviving one continuous wave of armored Dwarven Warriors, Clockwork automatons, and fast runners.

Chokepoint Setup and Initial Tower Layout

Do not place towers near the upper or lower monster spawns. Spreading your gold along the perimeter divides your damage and allows fast runners to slip past during cooldowns. Anchor your defense at the convergence point just ahead of the throne room exit.

Set your Orc Warriors Den rally flag slightly behind the direct junction line. Pulling your infantry back keeps them from absorbing immediate cleave attacks as dwarven units emerge from the tunnels. Position your magic tower where its continuous beam can sustain focus on high-health targets without target-switching to disposable grunts.

Countering Dwarven Infantry and Clockwork Units

The single wave escalates by combining heavily armored foot soldiers with high-damage mechanical automatons. Armor mitigation is the primary obstacle, making pure physical arrow setups ineffective against the frontline.

  • Target Heavy Armor with Magic: Focus your magic tower beams on Dwarven Warriors and Clockwork automatons. Re-target manual abilities or position your hero to hold armored units within the magic tower's attack cone.
  • Stagger Ground Blockades: Clockwork machines deal punishing area-of-effect damage that can wipe an entire barracks squad at once. Keep your barracks rally point at the front and place your hero a few paces behind it. This creates a secondary net to catch fast miners while your barracks recruits respawn.
  • Protect Ranged Windows: Avoid placing unarmored blockers directly in front of mechanical death animations. Let your physical ranged towers finish off fragile sprinters while the magic tower works down mechanical hulls.

Hero Positioning and Spell Usage

Your hero serves as a mobile anchor to plug lane leaks. Keep your hero positioned near the central intersection so they can step into either the upper or lower feeder lane on short notice.

  1. Intercept Armored Breaches: If heavily armored enemies push past your barracks squad, manually move your hero forward to stall them inside your archer and magic ranges.
  2. Stun High-Health Contraptions: Save hero crowd-control and stun abilities for Clockwork units to keep them stationary under sustained magic beam fire.
  3. Reset Sprinter Movement: Cast reinforcements directly on top of escaping runners. Spawning units directly in a runner's path resets its movement, buying your stationary towers time to deliver the final strike.
  4. Hold Emergency Powers: Reserve stage-wide damage powers like Soul Impact for dense crowds threatening to overwhelm the main intersection late in the assault.
