To survive mutant waves in Last Beacon: Survival, fortify the outer edges of your raft, keep high-value crafting stations near the center, and equip dual weapons on your hotbar before combat starts.

Raft Layout and Perimeter Fortification

Mutants invade your base from the surrounding ocean, making outer tiles and edge walls your primary point of failure. If an exterior tile collapses, adjacent chests, furnaces, and workbench modules connected to it can be lost.

To protect your base structure and production assets during raids:

• Upgrade Exterior Tiles First: Focus structural upgrades on outer deck tiles and edge walls before enhancing inner flooring.
• Store Vital Stations Inside: Place essential production modules, such as furnaces and water purifiers, in the center of your raft. This forces invading mutants to cross the deck, giving you time to attack before they target essential gear.
• Keep Repair Materials on Hand: Keep basic wood and scrap metal in your inventory during fishing and ocean exploration. Repairing damaged tiles mid-wave prevents structural integrity from reaching zero and protects attached machines.
• Body-Block Breaches: If a mutant breaks through an outer tile, step directly between the enemy and your nearest workbench to intercept its movement path.

Combat Strategy and Hotbar Management

Active combat in Last Beacon: Survival requires managing weapon durability. Because opening the crafting menu does not pause active gameplay during raids, trying to build a replacement mid-fight exposes you to direct damage.

• Equip Two Hotbar Weapons: Carry a high-damage weapon for elite aquatic mutants alongside a high-durability secondary tool to clear weaker enemies.
