To clear Stages 1 through 5 in LastCampDefense without taking damage to your central flame, place a basic melee blocker to halt enemy pathing, support them with staggered ranged attackers, and reserve all campfire upgrades for the intervals between waves.

---

Stage 1: Anchor the Lane with a Blocker and Archer

Spawn a basic melee defender ahead of the campfire as soon as Stage 1 begins. While creeps advance slowly from the map edge, allowing any monster to reach the base forces the campfire to expend health to defend itself. A single blocker halts enemy movement at a predictable point.

Summon an archer directly behind your frontline warrior once the first creep engages. One blocker has sufficient health to absorb the opening wave's basic physical attacks, while an archer inflicts uninterrupted piercing damage from safety. Avoid deploying a second melee unit early; creeps travel in single-file side-scrolling lanes, making duplicate frontliners an inefficient use of starting energy.

---

Stage 2: Time Campfire Upgrades Between Waves

In Stage 2, enemy creeps arrive in tighter clusters. Upgrading your campfire raises your maximum energy capacity and increases passive resource generation, but spending resources during active combat prevents you from fielding replacements or patching defenses.

Maintain momentum across Stage 2 by dividing your attention across three phases:

  1. Active Wave Combat: Keep two melee blockers holding the lane and deploy an archer whenever creep density spikes.
  2. Resource Reserve: Retain roughly 20 percent of your energy pool during combat to immediately replace a defeated frontline unit.
  3. Wave Recess: Purchase campfire upgrades the moment the final creep of a wave is defeated. This secures higher energy regeneration before the next wave spawns.

---

Stage 3: Stagger Ranged Units Against Swarms and Flyers

Stage 3 introduces fast-moving runners and low-flying creeps. Runners attempt to sprint past defenders who are already locked in combat animations, while flying units ignore ground blockers entirely. Placing your ranged units on the same tile causes them to overkill single frontline targets, allowing swift creeps to slip through.

Separate your ranged attackers to create overlapping fields of fire:

  • Forward Archer: Position two paces behind your melee line to concentrate on incoming armored targets.
  • Rear Archer: Position closer to the campfire to intercept bypassing runners and flying units before they reach the flame.

---

Stage 4: Absorb Brute Charges with Barricades

Stage 4 introduces brute-type enemies that perform high-damage cleave attacks capable of eliminating basic melee units in a few hits. Erecting wooden barricades forces these brutes to waste their charge attacks on durable structures.

Defensive Unit / StructurePrimary Stage 4 FunctionDeployment Rule
Wooden BarricadeAbsorbs high-impact charges and groups creepsRepair or reconstruct between enemy waves
Melee BlockerStrikes through the barrier without taking full cleavePlace directly behind the barricade, never in front
Ranged ArcherProvides safe, consistent single-target damageMaintain two active units behind the melee line

Station your melee blockers behind the barricade rather than ahead of it. This allows your defenders to attack through the barrier while the brute targets the barricade's health pool, saving energy on emergency redeployments.

---

Stage 5: Cycle Blockers to Defeat the Boss

The Stage 5 boss uses a wide melee sweep that knocks back and defeats basic frontliners. Surviving this encounter requires continuous unit cycling rather than relying on a static defense.

Hold a full energy reserve as the final wave begins. When the boss winds up its heavy swing and defeats your lead blocker, immediately deploy a replacement warrior on the lane before the boss advances toward your archers. Because of earlier campfire upgrades, your energy regeneration will outpace the boss's attack recovery. Keep two archers attacking from maximum range and cycle fresh blockers to lock the boss in midfield until the fight ends.
