Legends of Norheim on PC is a cartoon-style MMO strategy game about rebuilding a battered territory, defending the land of Norheim, and challenging the enemies that threaten it from within and beyond its borders. You take the role of a resourceful lord at a critical moment in the region’s history. Three years after the gnomes shattered the northern line of defense and marched their mechanical army into the conflict, human cities have fallen and the remaining population needs protection. Your task begins with restoring your city and creating a refuge, then expands into preparing an army capable of confronting the gnomes and other invading players. The game combines city development, world-map activity, troop management, hero collection, and strategic battles, with a persistent MMO framework that makes your territory and decisions part of a larger contested Norheim.

The core loop starts inside your city. With the alchemists’ help, you rebuild what the gnomes have damaged, improve the territory, and work toward faster construction, training, and growth. Those improvements support the military side of the game, where the goal is not simply to field more troops, but to create a force with useful combinations of attributes, elements, Immortals, and dragons. More than 50 Immortals can be summoned at the Hall of Immortals using Philosopher’s Stones, including recognizable figures such as Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, Merlin, and Robin Hood. These historical and legendary leaders are more than a collection screen: they are the powerful figures you assign to lead your troops into battle, whether you are pushing back enemies, protecting your city, or progressing through the PvE campaign. Building a capable roster and deciding which Immortals belong together gives the collection system a direct role in your wider strategy.

Dragons add another layer to those decisions. Seven types of elemental dragons inhabit a mysterious dragon cave, where the bravest warriors can awaken them from eggs. Once you claim an egg, you can hatch the dragon, raise the hatchling, and develop it into a fighter. Matching a dragon’s element with an Immortal of the same element activates exclusive elemental-unit buffs in battle. That makes team construction a matter of comparison and planning rather than a simple search for the strongest individual character. You need to consider the attributes covered by your units, the elemental buffs available to them, and how an Immortal and dragon complement one another. The best combination is presented as something you must discover through experimentation, giving the battlefield a strategic puzzle built around customized teams.

Beyond your city and battles, the World Map gives you reasons to dispatch forces and scouts into Norheim. Ruins are scattered across the map, and sending scouts to investigate them yields Stele Shards. You can use those shards in the Monuments within your territory to reveal pieces of Norheim’s history, while the exploration also offers rewards. This creates a useful secondary objective alongside defense and conquest: your attention is divided between developing the settlement, responding to threats, advancing through the PvE campaign, and uncovering the setting’s past. The gnomes provide the central hostile force, but other invading players mean that protecting yourself remains an ongoing concern rather than a single story mission.

On PC, a larger display gives you more room to read the city, battlefield, and World Map at the same time, which is especially helpful when deciding where to send scouts or checking the details of a developing strategic situation. Keyboard-and-mouse input also suits repeated management tasks: selecting buildings to restore, moving through city options, comparing Immortals and elemental pairings, and assigning dragons to the right leaders can be handled with precise pointer control. When you are balancing construction, troop training, exploration, and defense, that extra clarity makes it easier to review information before committing resources. Legends of Norheim is therefore best approached as a long-form strategy experience: rebuild first, assemble a coordinated roster, raise dragons, explore the ruins, and steadily prepare your territory and armies for both the gnomes and the players who may invade Norheim.
