To clear Level 2340 during the Sleepy Kittens event in Match Factory!, clear bulky surface items first to expose buried event pieces while keeping at least three of your seven tray slots empty. Do not pull a Sleepy Kitten into your tray unless you can immediately pick all three matching pieces.
Level 2340 Mechanics and Constraints
Level 2340 stacks required Sleepy Kittens targets beneath an assortment of randomized household clutter. Because Match Factory! uses a live countdown timer and physics-driven object mounds, uncoordinated tapping quickly fills your limited holding space.
| Board Element | Board Impact | Required Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Sleepy Kittens Targets | Required items pinned under heavy surface clutter | Clear covering layers first instead of pulling trapped singles |
| Seven-Slot Tray | Fills quickly when grabbing incomplete sets | Never exceed four occupied slots without an immediate match ready |
| Physics Mound | Removing lower items causes upper piles to tumble | Pull edge items to flatten the pile and expose covered targets |
| Countdown Timer | Penalizes visual hesitation and stalled clearing | Scan for your next match while current items animate into the tray |
Uncovering Sleepy Kittens
Searching only for Sleepy Kittens at the start of Level 2340 leads to jammed tray slots. Buried items cannot be extracted cleanly if other debris overlaps them.
- Clear large surface clutter first: Remove oversized items from the top of the pile immediately. Clearing two or three full sets of bulky objects drops the mound's height and reveals multiple kittens at once.
- Match target items in complete trios: Only tap a Sleepy Kitten if all three matching pieces are visible and unobstructed. Leaving one or two kittens sitting in your tray reduces your working space for clearing debris.
- Take exposed pairs only with an immediate reveal: Pick a kitten without a third visible match only if taking the second piece directly uncovers the third one underneath it.
Tray Slot Management Rules
Tray overflow causes an immediate game over. Managing your seven holding slots ensures you always have room to clear obstacles:
- Maintain a three-slot buffer: Keep at least three slots empty at all times. If four slots become occupied, dedicate your next moves entirely to finishing an existing set.
- Limit yourself to one incomplete pair: Never hold two different incomplete pairs in your tray at the same time. Having two distinct pairs leaves only three open slots, meaning one misclick or obstructed piece will freeze the tray.
- Match only from the surface: Do not dig multiple layers deep to complete non-target clutter sets. Take only surface-level items that offer an immediate three-piece match.
Using Pile Physics and Boosters
Extracting items around the perimeter causes the pile to settle and spread outward. When required kittens remain hidden, clear easy trios from the outer edges. This flattens the center of the board, sliding covered targets into accessible positions without burying them under tumbling debris.
When the clock winds down or tray capacity runs out, deploy boosters to prevent failure:
- Vacuum: Use the Vacuum when your tray reaches five or six occupied slots with no visible matches remaining on the board. The booster clears clutter sets instantly to restore your open buffer.
- Shuffle: If the timer reaches 15 seconds and remaining Sleepy Kittens stay buried under debris, activate a Shuffle. Shuffling rearranges the physics pile, frequently tossing submerged quest items directly onto the top layer.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This saved me time in the early game.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
