To create custom avatars in MiniMuses without texture clipping or proportion issues, establish your character's base features first before equipping clothing, adjust garment layer priorities, refine accessory transforms, and save your finished design as a named preset for Studio Mode.

Setting Base Features and Asset Navigation

Always configure top-level base features—such as body shape and skin tone—before adding clothing. Modifying the base body structure later changes how outfits fit and alters accessory anchor points.

Use the editor's top-level selection tabs to switch between body parts, clothing, and accessories. Once a tab is selected, scroll through the secondary menu to pick assets from the library.

Managing Clothing Layer Priorities

When stacking multiple garments, items can clip into each other if their layer priorities conflict. Open the layer management sub-menu inside the clothing tab to adjust whether an item sits above or below other equipped pieces.

Follow this default layer hierarchy to minimize clipping:

  • Base Layer: Skin-tight clothing or undergarments.
  • Mid-Layer: Pants, shirts, or dresses that define the primary silhouette.
  • Outer Layer: Capes, jackets, or framing accessories.

After equipping a new clothing item, rotate your avatar in the preview window to check for visible clipping across all angles.

Transforming Accessories

Accessories do not stay locked in a single default position. After equipping an item from the accessories tab, adjust its scale, position, and rotation sliders to align with your avatar's head and body shape:

  • Position: Move items like glasses or hats to sit directly on the face or hairline.
  • Scale: Shrink oversized items to match facial and body proportions.
  • Rotation: Tilt headwear to fit naturally against hair textures rather than hovering above them.

Saving and Organizing Character Presets

MiniMuses features a dedicated save system that lets you store and recall custom avatars. Save a backup copy of your preset before making major color or outfit changes so you can safely experiment without losing your original build.

Use descriptive file names for every saved preset. Clear names allow you to identify and import specific character variants quickly when building scenes in Studio Mode.
