To prevent character models from floating, clipping, or misaligning in MiniMuses studio mode, arrange your background environment before scaling characters, positioning props, and setting layer ordering. Because spatial depth is not calculated automatically in the current release, manual adjustment of coordinates and layer visibility is required to maintain depth accuracy.
Spatial Alignment Workflow
When building a new scene, set up environmental elements before placing character models to maintain accurate scale and placement.
- Place background and floor props: Build the room geometry or backdrop first. This establishes the horizon line and floor plane for the scene.
- Import and scale character models: Bring in your character assets and adjust their overall scale to match the surrounding environmental props before altering poses.
- Adjust positioning coordinates: Use the manual coordinate adjustments to nudge character models downward until their feet rest directly on the floor plane.
- Set depth layers: Assign characters and props to distinct front-to-back layers so objects render in the correct visual order.
Managing Prop Interactions and Scaling
Interactive props such as chairs, benches, and handheld objects require precise sizing to prevent models from hovering or sinking into surfaces.
- Establish baseline scale: Set your character to its target height before moving it near interactive furniture. Scaling furniture around a finished character pose prevents repeated adjustments.
- Orient interaction points: Select the target prop and use the rotation tool to turn its interactive side toward the camera view.
- Use snap settings: Enable the "snap to object" feature when available to automatically bind the character model base to a prop surface.
- Adjust camera angles: If clothing items or poses slightly clip through prop surfaces, rotate the camera view to obscure the misaligned geometry rather than disrupting character posing.
Layer Organization and Performance Management
Managing layer count and asset complexity keeps scene controls responsive and prevents selection errors.
| Task | Studio Mode Action | Operational Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Prevent accidental selections | Toggle layer hide/show switches | Locks background props while editing detailed facial features or limb poses. |
| Bypass active layer limits | Group related assets into shared layers | Consolidates all furniture on one layer and all characters on another. |
| Maintain mobile performance | Use lower-resolution drafts during testing | Reduces memory overhead before adding high-resolution PNG assets to the final render. |
| Protect project progress | Save scene files frequently | Prevents progress loss from memory issues when working with high prop counts. |

I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
This saved me time in the early game.
Nice guide. I am checking the other MiniMuses articles next.
