To execute a fast faith push as the Lion Clan (Kingdom of Neustria) in Northgard, construct an Abbey and assign two Monks before mid-800, survive the first winter by managing basic stockpiles, and launch a Paladin-led attack by late summer or autumn of 801.

The Lion Clan replaces standard Lore with Faith to unlock Kingdom Deeds and uses Livres instead of Krowns. Accelerating your Faith production early allows you to unlock high-impact military deeds and deploy an upgraded army before opposing clans finish establishing their mid-game defenses.

Year 800 Opening Build Order

Your opening sequence must secure basic food and timber while revealing nearby tiles for expansion. Clear tiles cleanly or avoid creeps until your military structures are ready rather than sacrificing villager health.

  1. Scout Camp: Build immediately and assign two Scouts to reveal adjacent zones. Prioritize finding high-building-capacity tiles, a reliable food source, and stone or iron deposits.
  2. House: Construct a House before hitting your initial population cap.
  3. Woodcutter's Lodge: Assign woodcutters to gather the timber required for immediate religious construction.
  4. Food Tile Colonization: Claim a nearby food tile to secure baseline sustenance before your first winter.

During the first two months, keep unassigned villagers focused on gathering food and wood.

Religious Infrastructure and Monk Management

Construct your first Abbey before the middle of year 800 as soon as your Woodcutter's Lodge supplies sufficient surplus.

  • Monk Allocation: Assign two Monks immediately upon completion. This keeps your Faith income high enough to rapidly purchase early Kingdom Deeds without depleting your food reserves.
  • Worker Rotation: If food supplies dip dangerously low before winter, pull one Monk back to basic food gathering temporarily. Return the worker to the Abbey as soon as food stabilizes.
  • Expansion: If surplus wood and territory allow, construct a second Abbey or upgrade your existing one to further accelerate Faith accumulation entering winter.

Active Monks generate steady Faith ticks, ensuring you unlock essential economic and combat deeds by early 801.

Surviving Winter 800

The heavy early investment in Faith leaves less domestic manpower for stockpiling. Winter increases wood and food consumption, and running out of either will trigger sickness and delay your military timing.

  • Stockpile Early: Build up enough food during autumn to sustain your settlement for three winter months without pulling Monks off their duties.
  • Butcher Sheep: If your territory contains sheep, slaughter them as emergency rations rather than diverting specialized workers.
  • Halt Colonization: Do not spend Livres or food claiming marginal zones during winter. Save these resources for your upcoming military infrastructure.

Year 801 Military Transition and Timing Attack

Transition into military production as soon as spring 801 arrives. Use your accumulated Faith to purchase combat deeds that reduce recruitment costs and improve frontline stats.

Army AssemblySummer–Fall 801Build camp and armory, forge weapons, and recruit units.

Erect your military camp and armory as winter clears. Paladins serve as your durable frontline force; forge their weapon upgrades if you have secured iron, or rely on recruitment numbers fueled by your Livre income.

Executing the Assault

Launch your offensive between late summer and autumn of 801. Rally your entire warband at the enemy border before crossing, then target production tiles or military camps to disrupt enemy reinforcements. Continue generating basic food and Livres at home to replace early losses.

Because this strategy sacrifices broad infrastructure for rapid tempo, your domestic economy cannot support a long war of attrition. You must commit your forces decisively to break the opponent's border defense before late-game clans scale their economies.
