To hit milestone targets during a Champion Chase tournament in RAID: Shadow Legends without draining your Sacred Shards, rely on champion sources outside of high-tier shard pulls. Unlike Summon Rush, Champion Chase awards tournament points whenever a champion enters your roster from any source, including the summon portal, permanent fusions, and campaign stage drops.

Champion Chase vs. Summon Rush Mechanics

Summon Rush gives fixed points for opening shards, regardless of who emerges. Champion Chase awards points strictly based on the rarity of the champion you acquire:

  • Legendary Champion: 500 points
  • Epic Champion: 250 points
  • Rare Champion: 50 points
  • Uncommon or Common Champion: 1 point

Because points attach to the champion rather than the shard, cracking Sacred Shards outside of a 2x boost is inefficient. A Sacred Shard that yields an Epic champion provides only 250 points. You can generate equivalent points through permanent portal fusions or pulling green Mystery Shards without spending high-tier summoning resources.

Redeem Banked Fragment Summons

The cleanest way to claim points without opening shards is redeeming banked fragment champions. When you collect 100 fragments from Clan Shop (such as Yannica), the Tag Team Arena Bazaar (such as Drexthar Bloodtwin), or Doom Tower floors (such as Archmage Helmut or Urost the Soulcage), leave them uncollected in your summon portal.

Holding these claims until a fusion tournament begins allows you to redeem them on demand. Claiming two completed Legendary fragment champions grants 1,000 tournament points instantly with zero shard investment.

Prepare Permanent Portal Fusions

Permanent portal fusions provide a renewable point engine. Fusing the Void Epic champion Broadmaw yields 250 points per craft and can be repeated as often as you supply the components.

Broadmaw requires four specific champions: Commander, Hardscale, Jagged Swine, and Bloodhorn. Prepare them before the tournament begins:

  1. Acquire component copies: Purchase Jagged Swine and Bloodhorn fragments from the Tag Team Arena Bazaar, or collect copies from campaign drops and Mystery Shard summons.
  2. Level and ascend: During prior Champion Training events, bring all four components to rank 4, level 40, and 4-star ascension.
  3. Fuse during the event: Complete the Broadmaw fusion once the Champion Chase begins to secure 250 points per craft.

Relickeeper functions as a secondary permanent fusion providing 250 points per craft, though his rare components require additional campaign farming to assemble.

Close Point Deficits with Mystery Shards and Campaign

If you are within 300 to 500 points of a tournament milestone, use green Mystery Shards rather than high-tier shards:

  • Each Rare pulled from a Mystery Shard awards 50 points.
  • Common and Uncommon pulls award 1 point each while providing rank-up food for Champion Training.
  • Pulling 200 to 400 Mystery Shards routinely bridges late tournament gaps while preserving Sacred and Ancient Shard stocks.

Additionally, running Campaign stage 12-3 for experience yields occasional 3-star drops such as Hound Spawn, adding 50 points directly to your tournament total.

When to Stop Shard Spending

Before opening shards, calculate your exact route to the milestone. Deduct your banked fragment summons, ready fusion crafts, and available Mystery Shards from the required target.

If closing the remaining gap requires opening four or more Sacred Shards under standard 6% legendary drop rates, evaluate whether the active fusion justifies the expenditure. Entering subsequent calendar events without Sacred Shards prevents participation in upcoming guaranteed events, Titan events, and future fusions. If the point requirement requires exhausting your entire reserve without probability boosts active, stop and preserve your shards.
