To solo Borgoth the Scarab King with Dorothy in RAID: Shadow Legends, build her with enough Resistance to stop buff strips and Provoke debuffs, enough Speed to maintain her self-shield, and passive healing gear to survive long encounters. Soloing eliminates the risk of unshielded allies triggering Borgoth's retaliatory counterattacks.

Stat Requirements for Normal and Hard Doom Tower

Borgoth counterattacks whenever an attacker lacks an active Shield buff. Dorothy's kit provides self-shields, but failing the boss's Resistance check will allow Borgoth to strip her shield or apply Provoke, breaking her turn rotation.

Prioritize stats in this order: Resistance, Speed, HP%, Defense, and Accuracy.

Stat MetricDoom Tower NormalDoom Tower HardPurpose
HP50,000+65,000+Absorbs direct attacks and scales passive healing
Defense2,800+3,800+Mitigates incoming physical damage from boss strikes
Speed190–210230–250+Cycles cooldowns ahead of the boss turn meter
Resistance250+350–400+Prevents Provoke, Decrease Speed, and buff removal

Meeting the Resistance check is mandatory. If Dorothy is provoked, she cannot recast her shield skill on schedule and will wipe.

Sustaining Dorothy through repeated boss turns requires passive recovery or consistent fallback shielding:

  • Regeneration (4-Piece) + Immortal (2-Piece): This combination restores a percentage of Dorothy's maximum HP every turn. Because she takes unpreventable single-target hits, this passive restoration offsets boss damage without requiring active lifesteal.
  • Destroy (4-Piece): Equipping a Destroy set reduces Borgoth's maximum HP as Dorothy attacks, depleting his massive purple shield bar and cutting run times substantially. Use this only if your gear substats can reach the necessary HP, Defense, and Resistance without the passive healing from Regeneration.
  • Bloodshield Accessories: Equipping a Bloodshield ring from Clan vs Clan tournaments provides a safety shield based on damage dealt whenever she attacks. This acts as a safeguard against turn desynchronization.

Mastery Setup

Because solo battles against Borgoth take hundreds of turns, mastery selection focuses on passive damage procs and defensive reinforcement:

  • Offense Tree: Warmaster is the essential Tier 6 mastery. Borgoth possesses an exceptionally large health pool, making direct attack scaling inefficient. Warmaster procs deal percentage-based damage on hit, serving as Dorothy's primary damage engine.
  • Defense Tree: Select Rejuvenation to amplify healing received from Regeneration and Immortal sets. Take Blastproof to reduce damage from Borgoth's area-of-effect abilities.
  • Support Tree (Alternative): If your gear falls short of the Resistance or Speed targets, use the Support tree instead of Defense to secure Lore of Steel and extra flat Resistance nodes.

Wave Navigation and AI Team Presets

Clearing the waves before the Scarab King with a solo Dorothy can be slow. To optimize the run:

  1. Use Sacrificial Wave Cleavers: Bring two or three damage dealers purely to clear Wave 1 and Wave 2. Allow them to die to Borgoth's opening attacks so Dorothy can fight the boss alone.
  2. Adjust Skill AI: In the team setup menu, set Dorothy's primary self-shielding ability to priority 1 so she casts it whenever it comes off cooldown.
  3. Disable Redundant Buffs: Turn off any secondary abilities that provide unnecessary buffs if they risk being stolen or extended against you.
