To build masteries efficiently in RAID: Shadow Legends, spend 800 Gems to unlock full masteries instantly on your first one or two level 60 champions, then switch exclusively to farming Minotaur’s Labyrinth Stage 15 for all future champions. Once you begin building, every champion can take masteries from only two of the three available branches—Offense, Defense, or Support—ending in a single Tier 6 keystone that matches the champion's primary skill kit.

When to Buy Masteries vs. Farming Minotaur

Every champion requires an identical total of scrolls to unlock all six tiers of masteries: 100 Basic scrolls, 600 Advanced scrolls, and 950 Divine scrolls.

Spending 800 Gems in the mastery menu is the correct choice for your starter campaign farmer (such as Kael) and your primary Clan Boss anchor. Early accounts cannot farm Minotaur Stage 15 reliably. Running Stages 11 through 13 wastes excessive energy on lower scroll drop rates. Buying masteries on your first two carries equips them with the stats and damage procs needed to farm Stage 15 directly.

Once you have a team that clears Stage 15, buying masteries for 800 Gems becomes inefficient:

  • Energy Cost: A full set of scrolls on Stage 15 takes roughly 2,100 to 2,250 Energy.
  • Gem Conversion: Buying energy refills at 40 Gems per 130 Energy amounts to approximately 640 to 700 Gems per champion.
  • Bonus Value: Farming Stage 15 saves 100 to 160 Gems per champion while yielding over two million Silver and Champion Experience.

Minotaur Scroll Drops and Target Farming

Minotaur’s Labyrinth distributes scrolls to only one random champion per completed run who still requires scrolls of the active tier. It will not drop scrolls for a champion whose tiers are already maxed out.

Scroll TierIcon ColorTotal RequiredStage 15 Drops per Run
Basic ScrollsWhite100~24 to 32
Advanced ScrollsGreen600~11 to 16
Divine ScrollsRed950~6 to 12

To eliminate drop randomness, run Stage 15 with a team of four fully mastered champions and one champion who needs scrolls. Because fully scrolled champions cannot receive drops, 100% of the scrolls funnel into your designated champion while leveling them at the same time.

Choosing Your Two Mastery Trees

Champions can invest in only two trees simultaneously. Your primary tree reaches Tier 6, while your secondary tree stops at Tier 4 or Tier 5.

  • Offense + Support: The standard pairing for PvE boss hitters, debuffers, and Clan Boss damage dealers. Offense provides damage modifiers and Tier 6 procs, while Support supplies Accuracy and Turn Meter perks.
  • Defense + Support: Common for revivers, tanks, defensive dungeon carries, and crowd-control champions who do not rely on raw damage output.
  • Offense + Defense: Primarily used for Arena nukers and bulky bruisers who do not apply debuffs and therefore do not require Accuracy from the Support tree.

Key Nodes by Tree

  • Offense: Pick Shieldbreaker to increase damage against targets with Shield buffs. Use Single Out to amplify damage against low-health targets and Life Drinker to grant 5% self-healing from damage dealt when fighting with low HP.
  • Defense: Select Delay Death to reduce incoming damage from specific attackers by up to 6%. Take Retribution for a 50% chance to counterattack whenever an incoming hit exceeds 25% of the champion's maximum HP.
  • Support: Pick Pinpoint and Charged Focus for essential flat and conditional Accuracy boosts. Use Evil Eye to decrease the target's Turn Meter on the first default attack against them in a round, and select Lore of Steel to increase basic gear set bonuses (Speed, Accuracy, Defense) by 15%.

Selecting PvE Tier 6 Keystones

For PvE boss content and high-stage Dungeons, the primary decision lies between Warmaster and Giant Slayer in the Offense tree:

  • Warmaster: Grants a 60% chance to deal bonus damage based on target max HP, but can only proc once per skill. Choose Warmaster for champions who attack once or twice on their default and primary skills.
  • Giant Slayer: Grants a 30% chance to deal bonus damage on every individual hit of a skill. Choose Giant Slayer for champions whose attacks hit three or more times per skill, such as Coldheart, Apothecary, or Rhazin Scarhide.
  • Helmsmasher: Provides a 50% chance to ignore 25% of target defense. Use this on wave clearers and Arena damage dealers where burst damage matters more than enemy max HP damage.
  • Eagle Eye: Grants a passive 50 Accuracy in the Support tree. Choose this for dedicated debuffers tackling high stat checks in hard Doom Tower or Live Arena when landing abilities outweighs damage procs.

Reset Rules

Every champion receives one free mastery reset. Subsequent resets cost 150 Gems each. Avoid resetting trees for minor stat testing; reserve gem resets for major role changes, such as removing speed and Turn Meter masteries when tuning a champion for an Unkillable Clan Boss speed tune.
