Skip targeted summon events for Wixwell the Interceptor in RAID: Shadow Legends unless you are deep into your Sacred Shard mercy counter and already hold enough shards to complete the next traditional fusion. Progressive chance events do not boost base legendary summon rates, meaning a small shard pool will almost certainly result in wasted resources.
How Progressive Chance Events Work
Progressive chance summon events increase the probability of obtaining a specific champion only after the game successfully triggers a legendary pull. They do not increase your baseline chance to roll a legendary champion from any shard.
| Shard Type | Base Legendary Rate | Approximate Pulls to Hit Legendary | Progressive Event Mechanic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sacred Shard | 6.0% | ~17 (without mercy) | Applies only after hitting the 6.0% legendary check |
| Ancient Shard | 0.5% | ~200 (without mercy) | Applies only after hitting the 0.5% legendary check |
| Primal Shard | 1.0% | ~100 (without mercy) | Applies only after hitting the 1.0% legendary check |
Because the base non-Void legendary pool contains well over 100 champions, even a 15x or 25x progressive multiplier leaves a high probability of pulling an off-target legendary. If you only have a few shards, you face low odds of seeing a legendary at all, let alone Wixwell.
Wixwell's Kit and Account Utility
Wixwell the Interceptor is a Spirit affinity defense champion whose kit solves multiple progression bottlenecks:
- Shield Growth and Extension: Wixwell continually grows and extends team shields, allowing teams to build 1-key Ultra-Nightmare Demon Lord setups without needing unkillable champions like Maneater or Demytha.
- Hydra Utility: His Intercept buff blocks incoming debuffs and crowd control, while his Provoke controls the Head of Decay.
While this utility is substantial, pulling for him outside of guaranteed reward structures introduces heavy account risk. Completing a standard monthly fusion typically requires 6 to 8 Sacred Shards (or point equivalents across Summon Rush and Champion Chase tournaments). Spending your shards on a low-odds progressive banner jeopardizes your ability to complete upcoming guaranteed champions.
Conditions for Pulling on a Wixwell Banner
Only pull during a targeted Wixwell summon event if your account meets all three of the following criteria:
- You Are Deep in Sacred Mercy: You have tracked your pulls and are sitting at 12 to 15 or more Sacred Shards without pulling a legendary champion, making an imminent legendary roll statistically likely.
- You Have a Fusion Buffer: You hold at least 10 Sacred Shards total, allowing you to spend two or three shards at high mercy while retaining a baseline reserve of 7 Sacred Shards for the next fusion event.
- You Lack a Top-Chest Demon Lord Team: Your account cannot consistently earn the top chest on Ultra-Nightmare Demon Lord, where securing daily shard income would offset the gamble.
If you do not meet your mercy threshold or lack a dedicated reserve floor of at least 7 Sacred Shards or 40 Void Shards, skip the event and save your resources for scheduled 2x events or guaranteed fusion milestones.
