To earn a 3-star rating on any Campaign stage in RAID: Shadow Legends, you must enter the battle with no more than two Champions and finish the final wave with both Champions alive.

If you are stuck on a stage, your immediate priority should be bringing your primary damage dealer (such as your starter Champion) to 6 stars, equipping them with a Lifesteal artifact set, and pairing them with a dedicated support unit.

3-Star Campaign Requirements

Understanding the exact clearing conditions prevents wasted energy on failed attempts:

  • Party Size Limit: You can deploy a maximum of two Champions. Bringing three or four Champions automatically caps your maximum potential rating at 2 stars, even if no one dies.
  • Zero Deaths: Both Champions must survive the entire encounter. If one Champion dies during an earlier wave and is not revived before the final boss dies, you receive 2 stars.
  • Affinity Checking: Avoid sending damage dealers into stages where the enemy wave has an elemental advantage over your Champion. Weak affinity attacks result in weak hits, reduced damage, and lower life recovery, leaving your duo vulnerable to heavy enemy counterattacks.

Building a Two-Champion Campaign Duo

Because you cannot rely on a full five-player team to distribute incoming damage, your duo must balance offensive wave-clearing speed with defensive survivability.

Team Formations

  • Damage Carry + Dedicated Support: Pair your strongest area-of-effect (AoE) attacker with a support unit focused on healing, shields, or defensive buffs.
  • Dual Self-Sustainers: Use two tanky Champions who can independently heal themselves or apply crowd control while gradually chipping down wave health.
  • Self-Sustain Abilities: Kits that apply Leech, Continuous Heal, or direct health recovery reduce reliance on external healing skills.
  • Crowd Control (CC): Skills that inflict Stun, Freeze, or Provoke disable dangerous enemy units before they can focus fire on your squishier Champion.
  • Damage Mitigation: Shields, Block Debuffs, and Cleanse abilities prevent your team from being locked down by enemy debuffs or bursted down by boss abilities.

Gear and Artifact Setup for Campaign Survival

Raw Attack stats are rarely enough to survive hard campaign stages. You must adjust your gear build to prioritize durability and turn speed.

Overcoming Difficulty Spikes

When you encounter higher difficulty tiers where enemy waves overwhelm your duo, take the following corrective steps:

  1. Max Your Primary Attacker: Do not split resources across multiple early-game Champions. Maximize your main starter Champion to Rank 6 (6 stars) and Level 60 first. A fully upgraded 6-star Champion equipped with basic Lifesteal gear can complete early and mid-tier campaign stages solo, allowing your second slot to be used safely.
  2. Counter Wave Debuffs: If an enemy wave locks down your team with crowd control, equip gear with higher Resistance stats or swap your support Champion for a unit capable of applying Block Debuffs or Cleanse.
  3. Target High-Threat Enemies First: Manually target enemies during difficult waves to eliminate high-damage attackers or enemy debuffers before letting your team auto-attack the remaining targets.
