To survive high-density combat encounters in Rogue Legend, maintain continuous movement to group aggressive enemies into manageable clusters, reserving heavy active skills and dash abilities strictly for escapes and high-value target bursts.
Standing still leaves your hero exposed to ranged projectiles and rapid melee swarms. Using perimeter movement and disciplined skill timing allows you to maintain control over large encounters without taking unnecessary damage.
Movement Discipline and Mobs Clustering
Effective defense in Rogue Legend relies on constant positioning. Staying in one place allows incoming melee units and projectile attacks to overwhelm you quickly.
- Hug the Perimeter: Move along the outer edges of the room or funnel enemies through narrow passages. Avoid running into the middle of a swarm, which leads to body-blocking and getting pinned by enemy hitboxes.
- Maintain Circular Strafe: Move in wide circles to draw melee enemies behind you in a tight line. This predictable grouping sets up efficient area-of-effect (AoE) damage.
- Time Attack Windows: Continue moving until enemies group together. Pause briefly to fire off high-impact attacks, then immediately resume movement before enemies close the gap.
Managing Skill Cooldowns
Active skills provide your primary crowd control, knockback, and area damage, making cooldown management critical when mob density increases.
- Reserve AoE for Groups: Avoid wasting heavy skills or knockbacks on single fodder enemies. Hold your strongest abilities until enemies assemble into a dense pack.
- Keep Escapes Ready: Treat your dash or dodge mechanic as a dedicated escape option rather than an initiation tool. Save mobility skills to break out of cornered positions or stun-locks.
- Respect Cooldown Windows: Disengage and widen your kiting loops while your primary defensive and control skills are on cooldown.
Target Selection Order
Not all enemies in a pack present equal risk. Identifying and clearing priority targets first reduces damage while you kite the remaining mob.
- Ranged and Fast Units: Target fast-moving enemies and distant projectile shooters first using your active skills. Eliminating them quickly removes unavoidable chip damage while you loop around the room.
- Slower Melee Groups: Once high-priority threats are dead, circle the remaining slow melee enemies and pick them off using basic attacks to save skill resources for the next wave.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
Nice guide. I am checking the other Rogue Legend articles next.
This saved me time in the early game.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
