To defeat the AI fighter in RuneScape PvP training, mask your offensive combat style until the exact tick your attack executes. The bot reads your equipped gear at the start of every server tick to set its overhead protection prayers. Equipping burst weapons on the strike tick prevents the AI from switching prayers in time, allowing you to bypass its 40 percent protection reduction and secure a knockout.

Bypassing AI Protection Prayers with 1-Tick Switches

The AI operates purely on immediate game-state reads rather than long-term tactical anticipation. In No Honor (NH) tribrid combat, holding a magic staff prompts the bot to use Protect from Magic, while holding a ranged weapon like a crossbow prompts Protect from Missiles within one to two ticks.

Because the bot updates its prayer based on your visible gear, executing a 1-tick switch lands unmitigated damage:

  1. Equip a bait weapon: Hold a weapon from an alternate style, such as an ancient staff or whip, to keep the bot locked onto the wrong overhead prayer.
  2. Queue your attack: Click to attack the bot from distance or in melee range while your bait weapon is still visible.
  3. Switch gear on the hit tick: Equip your true damage weapon—such as an Armadyl Godsword, Dragon Dagger, or Heavy Ballista—on the exact tick your character performs the strike animation.
  4. Reset your stance: Immediately switch back to your primary bait weapon or a shield after the hit registers to draw the AI back into an unfavorable prayer.

Swapping gear a tick too early allows the bot to activate the correct protection prayer, reducing your maximum hit. Swapping too late cancels or resets your attack cycle.

Countering Bot Freezes and Movement

The AI relies on Ancient Magicks to freeze you with Ice Barrage, then immediately walks underneath your character (death-dotting) or moves out of range to break your line of sight.

Do not spam movement clicks when frozen. If the AI steps directly under your tile, click a diagonal tile and queue an attack simultaneously. Your character will step out and attack the moment line of sight clears. Landing your own freeze halts the bot's movement, allowing you to trade hits predictably and cycle offensive prayers safely.

Securing the Knockout Window

The AI carries high-tier recovery supplies, including Saradomin Brews, Super Restores, Shark, and Cooked Karambwan. Because it automatically combo-eats whenever its health drops below 40 to 50 percent, basic chip damage will exhaust your supplies before you deplete the bot's inventory.

To secure a kill, create a burst damage stack that exceeds the bot's reaction threshold:

  1. Whittle the bot down into the 55 to 65 Hitpoint range using standard magic and ranged attacks.
  2. Keep your own Hitpoints above 75 to stay out of the bot's melee special attack knockout range.
  3. Apply ranged pressure to force the bot to keep Protect from Missiles active.
  4. Fire a ranged projectile, then switch immediately to a melee special attack weapon on the following tick.
  5. Close the distance so the ranged damage splat and the melee special attack hit splat land simultaneously, dealing over 60 combined damage in a single tick window.

If your special attack fails to kill the bot, return immediately to your defensive prayers. If you consumed Saradomin Brews during the exchange, drink a Super Restore or Combat Potion immediately to restore your combat stats before attempting another offensive rotation.
