Instead of trying to drain their health bar purely through ranged damage, your goal is to trigger a cinematic takedown sequence:

1. Stagger the Target: Hit the Brute with high-impact attacks like shotgun blasts or explosives. Intercepting a missed charge attack can also leave them briefly stunned.
2. Watch for the Icon: Once the Brute is interrupted or sufficiently damaged, a button prompt icon appears directly above their head.
3. Trigger the Sequence: Close the distance immediately and press the indicated interact button to lock the Brute into a script that inflicts heavy damage or eliminates them outright.

Priority Targets and Tactical Sequence

Brutes rarely fight alone. Syndicate lieutenants and standard grunts typically support them, exposing you to off-screen damage during long takedown animations.

Follow this engagement sequence to manage crowds safely:
