To win large-scale fleet battles in Sea of Conquest: Pirate War, maintain close proximity to your alliance formation, call out priority targets, and retreat to manage repair costs before your resources deplete. Surviving prolonged engagements with rival alliances requires disciplined tactical movement rather than chasing individual kills.

Maintaining Fleet Formation and Positioning

Solo flagships are easily isolated and destroyed. During large fleet battles, stay within visual range of friendly player icons so your alliance can provide immediate defensive support. Moving as a group forces enemy fleets to push through multiple lines of defense to reach you.

• Avoid Over-extending: Do not chase fleeing targets deep into enemy territory. Rival groups often use single ships as bait to draw overeager players into a concentrated ambush.
• Maintain Line of Sight: If you can no longer see allied icons on your screen, you are out of position. Fall back toward your main fleet immediately.

Target Selection Hierarchy

Indiscriminate damage wastes fleet momentum. Coordinate focused fire with your team to eliminate high-threat targets in order of priority:

1. Active Harassers: Focus first on enemy vessels that are disabling your alliance’s smaller ships or interrupting fleet movement.
2. Disconnected Units: Eliminate enemy ships that drift away from their main formation, as they can be burst down quickly without risk of rapid enemy reinforcement.
3. High-Power Anchors: Target high-power lead flagships after isolating them or when forcing the opposing alliance to shift their main defensive line.

Managing Repair Resources and Costs

Fleet warfare consumes significant amounts of wood and iron. Managing your repair materials determines how long your fleet can hold a contested zone.

When your flagship health drops below critical thresholds, pull back to the outer perimeter of the battle. If your wood and iron supplies run low, shift from a frontline damage role to a supporting position by providing covering fire or distracting split forces. Sinking due to depleted repair stocks feeds kill points to rival factions and removes your fleet from the map.

Alliance Communication and Battlefront Tactics

When fighting organized factions such as RPI, TSS, IMP, or DIE, communication determines map control. Use ping functions and alliance chat to focus team damage on single targets rather than spreading damage across multiple ships.

If enemy alliances fortify a choke point, avoid charging directly into their defensive line. Instead, re-position your fleet to contest secondary targets, cut off enemy reinforcement routes, or seize supply nodes to force the enemy out of position.
