To execute a one-turn kill (OTK) with Portalcraft in Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, survive until turn eight, hoard zero- or low-cost tokens in a hand maintained at seven to eight cards, and clear opposing Wards before deploying your primary Storm or burn finishers for 20 or more lethal damage.

Resonance and Turn Phasing

Executing the combo relies on cycling cards and actively controlling your Resonance state, which activates whenever an even number of cards remains in your deck. Maintaining an even deck count triggers cost reductions, clears, and card draw that feed your final burst turn.

Keep your hand size between seven and eight cards. Holding too many cards risks burning combo pieces to end-of-turn draws, while holding too few leaves you short on token fuel during your burst phase. Discard or expend secondary utility cards to prevent hand overflow.

Mid-Game Board Stabilization

Surviving until turn eight requires controlling the board without expending critical combo finishers or wasting evolution points needed for lethal damage.

  • Rush token trading: Contest enemy boards using rush tokens to eliminate threats and increase your total destroyed follower count without consuming evolution points.
  • Targeted removal and Bane: Save hard removal spells and Bane followers for high-threat enemy followers or massive targets that threaten your life total before turn seven.
  • Ward deployment: Place defensive Ward followers on turns five and six to absorb attacks and protect your leader from direct tempo damage.
  • Evolution point conservation: Preserve evolution points for your final burst push rather than spending them on minor board trades.
  • Draw prioritization: When choosing between a purely defensive trade and a play that clears while cycling a card, take the draw option to stay on curve for your setup turns.

Sequencing the OTK Turn

When starting turn eight, plan your exact play point (PP) budget and follower count before playing any cards to avoid locking yourself out of board space.

  1. Clear enemy Wards: Remove opposing Ward followers using secondary removal spells or rush tokens so your Storm followers have an open path to the enemy leader.
  2. Manage board capacity: Account for the five-slot board limit. Do not play unneeded utility tokens that prevent you from summoning your primary damage dealers.
  3. Play cost reducers and PP recovery: Cast PP-recovery cards and cost-reduced followers first to extend your total available play points for the turn.
  4. Deploy primary burst followers: Play your core finishers to trigger their Storm attributes, board buffs, or direct leader burn effects.
  5. Evolve and attack: Use your preserved evolution point on your highest-attack Storm follower, bypass the board, and direct all attacks at the opposing leader to close the match.

Matchup Adjustments

  • Against aggressive decks: Delay combo assembly to prioritize survival against fast Swordcraft or aggro Forestcraft boards. Stabilizing at low health is acceptable as long as you clear incoming attackers and prevent direct burn damage.
  • Against control decks and combo mirrors: Speed is critical because slow opponents will construct large Ward walls or heal out of standard lethal range. Take opportunities to push chip damage during the early and middle turns, lowering the opponent's health so your turn-eight sequence requires fewer pieces to secure the win.
