The Season of Pearl large boat prop in Sky: Children of the Light is a functional, drivable watercraft designed for open water. It allows one player to pilot the vessel from the helm while friends move freely across the deck without holding hands. To use it, you must deploy it into deep, unobstructed water and pilot it along clear routes.

Deployment Requirements and Placement

The large boat prop functions as an active interactive vehicle rather than static land furniture. It requires specific water conditions to place successfully:

  1. Open your expression and prop menu while standing near a shoreline or hovering above open water.
  2. Drag the boat icon over the water surface until the placement silhouette turns clear.
  3. Release the prop to summon the ship onto the water.

If the water is too shallow, confined within small indoor pools, or obstructed by nearby rocks, the placement will fail or immediately despawn upon release. Once placed, the vessel floats dynamically, and players can jump straight onto the deck.

Helm Controls and Navigation

Operating the vessel requires one player to interact with the rudder or helm node at the rear of the ship. Taking the helm shifts the control scheme from standard flight flap inputs to active steering:

  • Throttle: Holding forward movement drives the vessel forward at a steady cruising speed.
  • Steering: Left and right directional inputs turn the rudder. Due to simulated momentum, the boat has a wide turning radius that requires early steering adjustments.
  • Drifting and Stopping: Releasing directional inputs allows the craft to glide to a complete halt. Tapping the dismount icon safely releases helm control.
  • Camera View: The camera pulls back into an expanded wide-angle perspective while moving, improving visibility around hazards and water pathways.

Passenger Deck Utility

The primary benefit of the large ship is independent group travel across water zones. Passengers do not need to link hands with the driver and retain full freedom of action while in motion.

Riders can stand, sit along the edges, use call expressions, play musical instruments, or compose shared photo scenes while the boat travels.

Collisions, Currents, and Despawn Rules

The boat lacks a reverse gear and requires careful pathing around map hazards:

  • Obstacle Grounding: Colliding head-on with rocks, shorelines, or sandbars will wedge the hull in place. If the ship gets stuck, the owner must dismount, recall the prop to their inventory, and redeploy it in deeper water.
  • Boundaries and Wind Walls: Steering into realm transition triggers, severe map drop-offs, or wind boundaries automatically recalls the vessel. When despawned this way, passengers are dropped safely into the water.
  • Water Currents: Strong directional currents can overpower the rudder, dragging the ship off course regardless of steering inputs.

The large boat prop is designed primarily for open aquatic hubs, group roleplay, and scenic social gatherings, offering little functional value in tight, landlocked realms or speed-focused candle runs.
