To beat the Phase 2 Separatist special combat mission in Dark Side Geonosis Territory Battles using Gear 12 units, place Count Dooku in the leader slot modded heavily for Protection and Potency, while modding Asajj Ventress for pure Offense to ramp damage through her Rampage unique ability. Relic levels are not required if you manage debuffs and cooldowns manually across each wave.

Gear, Star Levels, and Zeta Priorities

Both Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress must be 7 stars and at least Gear 12 with full gear pieces installed to survive enemy openers. At this gear tier, specific Zeta upgrades are mandatory to replace the missing stats of Relic tiers.

  • Count Dooku (Flawless Riposte): Essential. Grants counter chance, bonus counter damage, and Protection recovery whenever Dooku attacks out of turn.
  • Asajj Ventress (Rampage): Essential. Grants stacking Offense, Critical Chance, and Max Health whenever any unit on the field is defeated, serving as your primary damage scaling engine across multiple waves.
  • Count Dooku (Separatist Ambition - Leader): Recommended. Provides ability block synergy, bonus tenacity, and health/protection recovery on debuff infliction to keep the duo stabilized.
  • Asajj Ventress (Nightsister Swiftness or Black Sun Enforcer): Not required. Dooku’s leadership provides superior control and survivability for this two-character mission format.

Modding Requirements

Because the mission restricts your team to two characters, Dooku must act as a crowd-control tank, while Asajj provides burst damage.

Count Dooku: Protection and Potency

Avoid modding Dooku for offensive damage. Equip Protection primaries on the circle, triangle, and cross to maximize the pool recovered by Flawless Riposte. High Potency secondaries are mandatory so his basic attacks and Force Lightning consistently inflict Stun and Ability Block on high-tenacity Republic enemies. Slice key Protection and Defense mods to 6E where possible.

Asajj Ventress: Offense Scaling

Mod Asajj with an Offense set and high flat Offense and percentage secondaries. Her base damage needs to be high enough to secure early kills in Wave 1. Once early kills occur, her Rampage unique multiplies this offensive foundation across subsequent waves.

Target Priority and Tactical Sequencing

Do not use auto-battle. Winning at Gear 12 requires controlling enemy special abilities and managing cooldowns manually.

Target Priority

  1. Clone Sergeants and Sharpshooters: Neutralize immediately. Their heavy area-of-effect (AoE) attacks bypass Dooku's Stealth and can defeat a Gear 12 Asajj early. Keep them locked down with Stun or Ability Block.
  2. Jedi Commanders: These units apply mass Protection Up, Defense Up, and healing to Clone allies. Strip these enhancements using Asajj’s Strike Fear.
  3. High Turn-Meter Clones: Use Dooku's basic attack to lock down any clone approaching a full turn-meter bar before they can unleash special attacks.

Step-by-Step Wave Execution

  1. Control the Primary Threat: Open each wave by using Dooku’s Force Grip or Force Lightning to Stun the most dangerous attacker (typically a Clone Sergeant).
  2. Bait and Strip Buffs: Hold Asajj’s Strike Fear until Republic support units or Jedi grant team-wide buffs. Cast Strike Fear to dispel all enemy buffs and strip enemy turn meter.
  3. Eliminate the Weakest Target: Focus both characters on the lowest-health clone to trigger Asajj's Rampage as early as possible.
  4. Maintain Dooku's Stealth: Ensure Dooku gains Stealth and Riposte, redirecting single-target enemy attacks and triggering counterattack protection recovery.
  5. Reset Cooldowns on Wave End: When only one enemy remains, rely exclusively on basic attacks to defeat them. Entering the next wave with all specials off cooldown is essential for surviving the initial turn meter burst of the next encounter.
