To clear Places of Power Challenge Tier 2 on auto in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, run an Emperor Palpatine Sith squad built to convert mass debuffs into continuous turn meter. This setup bypasses high-damage Jedi counterattacks and inflated enemy health pools across all eight waves without requiring Galactic Legends.

Required Squad Composition

Emperor Palpatine leads the squad, while Darth Vader and Bastila Shan (Fallen) apply the continuous debuffs that cycle turn meter. Darth Malak and Darth Nihilus provide the survivability and single-target removal needed to prevent sudden wipes.

CharacterRole and Minimum InvestmentKey Abilities and Mechanics
Emperor Palpatine (Leader)Relic 5Emperor of the Galactic Empire awards 20% Turn Meter per debuff inflicted on enemies and 5% Turn Meter when enemies take damage from Shock.
Darth VaderRelic 5 to 7Force Crush applies mass Damage Over Time and Speed Down; Merciless Massacre enables multi-target debuff cycling.
Bastila Shan (Fallen)Relic 3 to 5Corrupted Battle Meditation suppresses enemy potency and counter-chance while triggering Palpatine's turn meter gains.
Darth MalakRelic 5Passive taunts absorb opening strikes, Drain Life sustains health, and incoming critical hits inflict Fear.
Darth NihilusRelic 3Stacks Max Health via Lord of Hunger, reduces cooldowns with Force Drain, and removes elite targets with unblockable Annihilate.

Count Dooku or Sith Marauder can fill open slots if necessary, but omitting Malak or Nihilus increases the risk of losing characters to opening Jedi bursts in later waves.

Modding and Stat Thresholds

Automating this tier requires sufficient Speed to act before enemy waves build momentum, along with high Potency to ensure debuffs land reliably.

  • Emperor Palpatine: 240–260 Speed with over 100% Potency. Survivability stats help him withstand stray counter-attacks until the turn meter train begins.
  • Darth Vader: 270+ Speed with an Offense or Critical Damage focus. High damage ensures Culling Blade eliminates high-threat targets quickly.
  • Bastila Shan (Fallen): 280+ Speed with Speed and Health sets. Acting early in wave transitions allows her to apply Corrupted Battle Meditation before enemies retaliate.
  • Darth Malak: Stack Protection primaries with high Tenacity. Malak converts Protection into Health, allowing his auto-taunt to absorb heavy opening bursts.
  • Darth Nihilus: Prioritize Speed and Health/Protection. Nihilus gains stacking Max Health over the course of the battle, making him nearly impossible to defeat in later waves.

Wave Strategy and Auto Settings

The team can run on Full Auto through Waves 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. However, high-threat bosses in Wave 4 and Wave 8 warrant target management to ensure 100% success.

Wave 4: General Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin

Wave 4 features General Kenobi's passive taunting and Jedi Knight Anakin's bonus-turn damage. To prevent Anakin from triggering bonus attacks:

  1. Tap Auto-Basic near the end of Wave 3 so your squad enters Wave 4 with cooldowns ready.
  2. Manually target Jedi Knight Anakin at the start of Wave 4 so Vader's debuffs and Palpatine's stuns control him immediately.
  3. Use Nihilus's Annihilate or basic dispel on General Kenobi if he gains Foresight and Taunt, then resume standard Auto once Anakin falls.

Wave 8: Grand Master Yoda

Wave 8 features high Tenacity and extreme Speed on Grand Master Yoda.

  1. Enter the wave with Annihilate ready by switching to Auto-Basic during the final turns of Wave 7.
  2. Malak absorbs Yoda's opening burst, triggering Fear on critical hits.
  3. Target Grand Master Yoda immediately. Once Palpatine or Vader lands a round of debuffs, turn meter stabilizes, allowing Nihilus to eliminate Yoda with Annihilate and finish the encounter.
