To beat the Phase 1 Special Mission in the Dark Side Geonosis Territory Battle (Separatist Might) in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, run Nute Gunray as leader alongside Count Dooku and three Separatist Droids: B2 Super Battle Droid, IG-100 MagnaGuard, and either Droideka or B1 Battle Droid. Complete the mission by spreading Extortion continuously, using Dooku to lock down dangerous Jedi, and entering the fourth wave with your dispel and crowd-control abilities ready to fire immediately.
Squad Requirements and Lineup Choice
The Phase 1 Special Mission requires Count Dooku and Nute Gunray at 7 stars and at least 16,500 Galactic Power each. Any additional Separatist allies must also meet this 16,500 GP minimum.
While Dooku offers counter chance and offense under his own leadership, Nute Gunray provides the superior leadership ability for this mission. Nute grants bonus speed, damage based on enemy health, and the Extortion mechanic. Nute also gains a guaranteed revive with stealth and full health when defeated for the first time, protecting the squad from opening burst damage.
Fill the three remaining slots with Separatist Droids to absorb hits and manage enemy buffs:
- B2 Super Battle Droid: Dispels enemy buffs with Mow Down, inflicts Buff Immunity, and gains bonus turn meter whenever allies take damage.
- IG-100 MagnaGuard: Provides a reliable taunt, takes opening hits from aggressive Clones, and adds an extra stun.
- Droideka or B1 Battle Droid: Choose Droideka for True Damage burst and Damage Immunity, or B1 Battle Droid for squad healing, turn meter recovery, and constant assist damage.
Core Control Strategy
Galactic Republic enemies gain escalating damage and durability across the four combat waves, making it impossible to win through passive attrition. Focus on removing enemy turns entirely.
- Cycle Extortion: Cast Nute’s Fate of the Separatists on fast attackers or high-threat targets. Extortion lowers enemy speed and offense while granting stacking bonuses to your squad. When an affected enemy spends a turn casting the Extortion special ability to clear the debuff, it wastes an action that would otherwise deal heavy damage.
- Lock Down Jedi with Dooku: Dooku has a 100% chance to stun Jedi targets on his basic attack and gain 100% turn meter, allowing him to neutralize Jedi indefinitely.
- Disrupt Clones with Dooku: Against Clone Troopers, Dooku applies Ability Block and Daze to shut down special attacks and turn meter gains. Use Master of Makashi to gain Stealth and Riposte, returning counter damage when clones attack.
Target Priority
Every wave features a combination of Republic Clones and Jedi. Eliminate enemies in this order to prevent team wipes:
| Priority | Target | Threat Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clone Medic | Revives fallen allies and provides burst healing that erases squad progress. |
| 2 | Clone Sharpshooter / Sergeant | Deals lethal single-target and AoE critical damage to non-tank droids. |
| 3 | Clone Commander / ARC Trooper | Grants bonus turn meter and summons additional firepower. |
| 4 | Jedi Vanguard / Consular | Deals steady damage; keep stunned with Dooku while eliminating Clones. |
| 5 | Republic Clone Trooper / Tanks | High health pools with low offensive threat once stripped of buffs. |
Never leave a Clone Medic active when other enemies have been eliminated, as a single revive can reset the wave's progress and disrupt your ability cooldowns.
Wave-by-Wave Walkthrough
Waves 1 and 2: Tempo and Cooldown Setup
Apply Extortion to the fastest Republic attacker on turn one. Use B2’s Mow Down immediately after an enemy takes a turn to clear initial Defense Up and Tenacity Up buffs. Use Dooku to stun or ability-block the highest-damage Clone. Once only a single tank remains, rely strictly on basic attacks to ensure Nute and Dooku begin the next wave with all special abilities off cooldown.
Waves 3 and 4: Managing Escalated Firepower
Wave 3 features faster, harder-hitting enemies. Establish MagnaGuard’s taunt or Droideka’s Damage Immunity right away. Spread Extortion to reduce incoming damage. Before finishing the final enemy in Wave 3, switch back to basic attacks so B2’s area dispel and Dooku’s abilities are fully refreshed.
Wave 4 opens with heavy burst damage from Republic Clones. Execute the following sequence to survive the opening assault:
- Use B2’s AoE dispel to strip all initial enemy buffs.
- Target the primary Jedi or Clone Commander with Dooku's stun.
- Apply Extortion with Nute Gunray to force the enemy to waste an action.
- Focus fire on Clone Medics, followed by damage dealers, to secure the mission clear and earn Mk II Guild Event Tokens for your guild.
Modding Benchmarks
Squad failures typically result from Dooku being too slow to control enemies before they act, or B2 falling early.
- Count Dooku: Target 300+ Speed and at least 80% Potency so stuns and ability blocks penetrate high enemy tenacity.
- B2 Super Battle Droid: Focus on high Protection, Health, and Potency. Do not prioritize Speed; B2 gains its turn meter through passive ally damage procs.
- IG-100 MagnaGuard: Focus on Protection and Defense primaries to survive opening salvos in Wave 3 and Wave 4.
