To defeat a General Skywalker (GAS) and 501st squad using Padmé Amidala in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, you must convert the enemy's frequent out-of-turn attacks into bonus Protection Up and Courage, strip Skywalker's protection to force him into Cover, and eliminate CT-5555 "Fives" before taking down any other clone.
While General Skywalker is standing, 501st clones cannot lose health or be defeated. Your immediate objective is forcing Skywalker to kneel, which removes clone damage immunity and creates a temporary window to clear enemy units.
Recommended Squad Composition
A standard Galactic Republic team provides the defensive durability and true damage needed to withstand the opening assault:
| Character | Primary Role | Key Matchup Contribution |
|---|---|---|
| Padmé Amidala (Lead) | Leader & Cleanser | Grants Protection Up and Courage via Unwavering Resolve; cleanses debuffs with Cunning Plan. |
| General Kenobi | Tank & Damage Sponge | Absorbs initial single-target bursts; grants Retribution and calls squad assists with Lead the Charge. |
| Jedi Knight Anakin | Burst DPS | Inflicts Buff Immunity with Overpower; takes bonus turns via Righteous Fury when allies drop low. |
| Ahsoka Tano | Dispel & Assist Attacker | Clears enemy buffs on Basic attacks; provides constant assist damage. |
| Grand Master Yoda | Support & Buff Spreader | Distributes Tenacity Up and bonus Protection Up; alternates with C-3PO if debuff acceleration is preferred. |
High relic investment on General Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin is essential. Kenobi must withstand initial assaults from Skywalker and the 501st, while Anakin needs sufficient damage to strip Skywalker's protection rapidly.
Key Battle Mechanics
Padmé’s leadership ability, Unwavering Resolve, directly turns the 501st squad's high assist frequency into defensive and offensive resources:
- Protection Up Generation: Whenever a Galactic Republic ally is attacked out of turn, they gain 40% stacking Protection Up. Bonus attacks from Rex, Echo, and Skywalker continuously restore your squad's effective health pool.
- Critical Hit Immunity: Allies with active Protection Up cannot be critically hit, preventing Skywalker's opening strike and Rex’s basic attacks from dealing fatal burst damage.
- Courage Damage: When Protection Up expires or is consumed on an attack, it converts into stacks of Courage. Each stack of Courage deals 8% of the target's max health as true damage. When targeting Skywalker, save high Courage stacks for heavy single-target abilities rather than spreading attacks across multiple targets.
Execution Sequence
Phase 1: Force Skywalker into Cover
- Survive the opener: Allow General Kenobi to absorb the initial 501st attacks.
- Buff and stabilize: Use Padmé’s Cunning Plan to clear any initial debuffs and grant bonus Protection Up across the team.
- Apply Buff Immunity: Use Jedi Knight Anakin’s Overpower area-of-effect attack to land Buff Immunity on Skywalker, preventing him from gaining additional defensive buffs.
- Deplete Skywalker's protection: Direct all single-target specials, including Ahsoka's specials and Kenobi's assist call, onto General Skywalker. Once his protection reaches zero percent, he enters Cover and kneels.
Phase 2: Clone Elimination Priority
Once Skywalker is kneeling, 501st clones become vulnerable until his protection completely regenerates. Follow this strict elimination order:
- CT-5555 "Fives": Always defeat Fives first. If any other clone ally dies while Fives is active, Fives sacrifices himself to grant his maximum health, protection, defense, and speed to all remaining clones, making the surviving 501st units extremely difficult to finish before Skywalker stands back up.
- Rex: Target Rex immediately after Fives falls. Rex's Aerial Advantage special scales in damage based on the total turns taken by clone allies and can eliminate General Kenobi in a single strike if left unchecked.
- ARC Trooper and Echo: Focus on whichever remaining clone has lower current health. ARC Trooper’s turret generates steady chip damage, while Echo provides area stuns.
Phase 3: Handling the Stand-Up
If Skywalker recovers full protection before all clones are defeated, he will stand back up and the remaining clones will regain damage immunity.
Do not panic if Kenobi takes significant damage during this reset. Use Padmé’s Cunning Plan to refresh Protection Up and cleanse Armor Shred or Healing Immunity. Refocus all attacks onto Skywalker to burn his protection pool a second time. With the enemy clone ranks thinned, incoming damage will be significantly lower, allowing you to force Skywalker into Cover again, finish the final clone, and eliminate Skywalker alone to secure the win.

Nice guide. I am checking the other Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes articles next.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The tips are practical and easy to follow.
