To defeat the massive Lunarclops in Stick War: Saga, replace your melee frontline with ranged units, spread your archers vertically across the arena, and kite the boss while maintaining a safe economic flow. Because Lunarclops deals wide-area melee damage that easily crushes infantry, victory relies on keeping your forces at a distance and avoiding the map boundary.

Army Spacing and Unit Selection

Standard melee armies fail against Lunarclops because its attacks hit multiple targets across a wide forward arc. To sustain high damage without losing entire formations, adjust your squad layout before engaging:

  • Prioritize Ranged Units: Use archers as your primary damage source. Their range keeps them clear of the boss's wide melee cleave while maintaining constant damage output.
  • Spread Vertically: Do not stack archers in a single clump. Scatter them along the vertical axis of the arena so a single ground slam cannot eliminate your entire backline.
  • Apply Damage Over Time: If available, use units or attacks that deal poison or burn effects to chip away at the boss's large health pool while your army is moving.

Kiting Tactics and Edge Traps

Lunarclops slowly pushes your army back toward the map boundary. If your forces get pinned against the screen edge, use the following sequence to escape and reset your positioning:

  1. Watch the Wind-up Animation: Zoom out your view to keep Lunarclops fully visible. Pull back your entire force the moment the boss lifts its arms to perform a heavy ground pound.
  2. Kite Between Recovery Frames: Retreat until the slam animation resolves, pause briefly to let your archers fire a full volley, then continue stepping back.
  3. Deploy a Bait Unit: If your archers reach the map edge, send a cheap single unit—such as a spare miner or low-tier soldier—straight past the boss.
  4. Reposition to the Center: While Lunarclops turns to strike the bait unit, move your main ranged force back toward the middle of the map to regain maneuvering space.

Resource Management During the Fight

Managing your army production under heavy pressure determines whether you can sustain the fight:

  • Time Miner Recruitment: Do not train or push miners forward while Lunarclops is actively attacking near your line, as area-of-effect slams will kill them instantly. Only recruit miners during the recovery window after the boss finishes a heavy attack.
  • Reinvest in Ranged DPS: Direct your gold toward replacing fallen archers rather than purchasing melee units or non-essential upgrades.
  • Rally Behind the Line: Set your barracks rally point behind your active ranged formation so newly trained units do not walk straight into the boss's attack arc.
