Valkyrie Nexus on PC is a turn-based card game built around a brisk, unusual rule: each player has 10 MP every turn, with no resource ramp to wait through. That means powerful cards can be played from the opening move, and the central challenge is deciding how to use a full turn’s options rather than spending early turns building up. You choose cards for a 30-card deck from a pool of 160, then place units, weigh their effects, and decide when to commit your Overdrive. The basic rules are quick to learn, but the decisions are consequential: a unit’s position can shape what the opponent is able to attack, and using a powerful effect now may leave you without the right answer later.

Four keywords cover much of the tactical language. Rush units can attack on the turn they are played, making them useful when you need immediate pressure. Guard forces the opponent to attack that unit before anything else, so placement can protect your other cards or disrupt an attack plan. Units with Activate can use an ability every turn, creating reasons to preserve them on the field. Overdrive is a trump-card mechanic that powers up a unit and lets it attack on the spot; choosing when to spend it can turn a quiet board into an immediate threat. Since card effects are written on the cards, the core loop is easy to follow: assess the field, choose what to play with your 10 MP, position units, and decide whether to save or unleash your strongest effect.

There are several ways to put that loop to work. In Battle, you pick an opponent and fight for Diamonds and other rewards. Ranked Match lets you challenge decks published by players around the world, with AI controlling the opposing deck; wins can move you up from Bronze without requiring you to wait for a live opponent. Online Match is the real-time option, supporting both standard rules and a longer-game ruleset with 40 HP and 40-card decks. You can also play a friend by sharing a room code, including across iPhone and Android. Draft changes the deck-building problem: choose one card at a time from sets of three, build a deck on the spot, and take on up to 10 matches. Because Draft lets you use cards you do not own, results depend on the choices you make during the run rather than the size of your collection.

Between matches, the Deck Builder lets you search the card pool by name, effect, or cost and assemble your own 30-card list. Card Packs can be opened one at a time, ten at once, or by watching an ad, while every card can also be earned through play; paying is optional for players who want to collect faster or skip ads. Match History stores replays of your last 30 battles, showing both players’ moves in order. Reviewing a close loss can help you spot where a Guard unit should have been placed, whether an Activate ability could have been used more effectively, or if Overdrive was spent too soon.

On PC, a larger display can make it easier to read card text and compare costs and effects while assembling a deck, particularly when searching for a specific interaction. During a match, seeing the board and its unit positions at a glance helps when evaluating Guard’s protection, possible Rush attacks, and the timing of Overdrive. Keyboard-and-mouse input also suits repeated deck-building tasks: clicking through search results and pack options, selecting cards in Draft, and reviewing a sequence of moves in Match History are straightforward without changing the game’s turn-based pace. The game does not impose a turn timer, so you can take time to inspect the field and consider your options; Ranked Match’s AI-controlled decks avoid matchmaking queues, while Online Match remains available when you want a live game.
