Because the research time and resource requirements are high, prioritize a single troop type that matches your strongest commander march before expanding to other unit classes.

Upgrade Settlement and Training Infrastructure

Tier 8 research is locked behind settlement infrastructure. You must advance your Chief's Hall and Academy to their late-game milestones before the terminal research nodes become available.

Each troop type—Infantry, Pikemen, Archers, and Cavalry—depends on its dedicated training camp. To begin T8 research for a specific unit:

1. Upgrade your Chief's Hall to meet the maximum Academy level requirement.
2. Upgrade your Academy to unlock the final military tech tier.
