To finish in first place in the Viking Rise Law of the Jungle event, prioritize gathering uncontested supply crates, hug the shrinking safe zone border, and avoid direct combat until you can ambush the final duelists. Survival determines match placement more than kill counts.
Secure Early Supply Crates
Your starting march enters the arena without extra stat enhancements. The opening two minutes dictate your army's baseline power for the rest of the match, as supply boxes scattered across the map drop essential buffs:
- Stat Boosts: Crates grant attack power, march speed, and damage reduction bonuses.
- Sustenance: Crates provide immediate health restoration to keep your army battle-ready.
- Low-Risk Scaling: Securing three or four uncontested crates early establishes a mathematical advantage over players who spend the opening phase in unbuffed fights.
Do not spawn near or rush directly into the center of the arena. If another player challenges you for a crate immediately upon entering, disengage and claim nearby uncontested caches instead. Taking early damage for a single chest is an inefficient trade that leaves you vulnerable to early elimination.
Edge-Ride the Shrinking Safe Zone
Law of the Jungle uses a collapsing boundary that inflicts rapid percentage-based damage on any march caught inside it. Rushing straight into the safe zone's center exposes your army to multiple opponents at once.
To manage incoming threats, ride the edge of the border:
- Monitor the Countdown: Track the safe zone timer and advance just inside the boundary line rather than moving deep into the safe area.
- Protect Your Flanks: Staying along the outer rim prevents other players from getting behind you, halving the directions you need to scan.
- Ambush Late Rotators: Players escaping the miasma often emerge with low troop health and predictable movement paths, making them low-risk targets.
Choose Fights Using the Third-Party Rule
Engaging in an extended 1v1 battle carries high risk because health does not naturally regenerate between engagements. Even if you win an isolated duel, your march is often left with 30% to 40% health, making you an easy target for nearby opponents.
Instead of initiating duels, watch the minimap for combat markers and observe health bars in nearby skirmishes. Wait until both competitors expend their burst skills and one falls. Once the duel concludes or both players drop to critical health, attack the survivor immediately. This tactic secures the buffs dropped by the defeated player while keeping your own troop losses minimal.
| Phase | Primary Objective | Risk Level | Combat Posture |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Game (Minutes 0–2) | Collect uncontested crates and scout surroundings | Low | Passive and avoidant |
| Mid Game (Minutes 2–5) | Edge-ride the border and eliminate low-health rotators | Medium | Opportunistic third-party |
| Late Game (Final Ring) | Hold defensive cover and execute remaining targets | High | Decisive burst attack |
Preserve Health and Speed Boosts
Retreat capability and health management determine whether you survive the final circle:
- Save Movement Boosts: Reserve speed items to break target locks or reposition behind natural terrain when an unexpected third party enters your fight.
- Hold Healing Items: Avoid using health restoration items when your march is above 85% health. Keep them in reserve to recover after necessary mid-game skirmishes.
Win the Final Circle Showdown
The final safe zone typically holds three or four surviving players. In this confined space, the player who initiates combat usually loses, as remaining survivors will target the initiator's exposed flank.
Take a defensive position near an obstacle or edge inside the final perimeter and wait. Allow your remaining opponents to clash first. As soon as the fighting players exhaust their abilities and drop below half health, deploy all stored offensive skills onto the surviving threat. Striking after your opponents weaken each other ensures you secure the final knockout and claim first place.
