To beat Mission 170 in Warzone Commander, hold your deploy points until the enemy vanguard approaches your side of the map, absorb the opening push with low-cost infantry screens, and counterattack using main battle tanks supported by trailing anti-tank units. Rushing heavy armor early will cause your vehicles to be isolated and destroyed by enemy rocket squads.

Phase 1: Stabilize Against the Initial Rush

Mission 170 opens with an aggressive wave of frontline infantry, rocket squads, and light armored personnel carriers. Because the opposing forces spawn quickly, spending points on expensive units immediately leaves your base unprotected.

Follow this sequence to secure the lane during the opening minute:

  1. Let the enemy advance across the midline: Allow the hostile vanguard to cross into your half of the battlefield before committing units. Fighting closer to your home base shortens the travel distance for your reinforcements and lengthens the enemy supply line.
  2. Deploy rifle infantry as a forward screen: Summon standard foot soldiers to engage the enemy vanguard in neutral ground. Their role is to absorb initial rocket fire and force hostile units to halt.
  3. Queue ranged anti-infantry behind the frontline: Deploy machine gunners or marksmen directly behind your screening infantry to eliminate hostile foot squads before they throw grenades or overwhelm your line.
  4. Bank points for heavy armor: Avoid deploying solo vehicles or air strikes during the opening clash. Wait until your infantry creates a stable frontline before investing in heavy assets.

Phase 2: Form a Combined-Arms Push

Once the opening skirmish stalls near the center, shift your economy into a sustained advance. Mission 170 requires maintaining a specific unit hierarchy so high-value vehicles do not take unshielded fire.

Unit TypeBattlefield RoleDeployment Timing

Main Battle TanksPrimary damage soak and frontline siege anchorSummon once infantry establishes lane control
Anti-Tank / Rocket SquadsDestroys enemy armor from safetyQueue immediately behind active tanks
Air Strikes / ArtilleryClears concentrated swarms of vehicles and infantryReserve for dense enemy counter-attacks

Always deploy your main battle tank behind an existing wave of infantry. The infantry prevents enemy anti-tank squads from locking onto your armor, while the tank absorbs incoming direct fire and clears a path for your rear rocket squads.

Phase 3: Sustain Momentum and Breach the Base

As your column crosses midfield toward the opposing base, the enemy will trigger dense counter-attacks, frequently dropping armored units directly outside their fortifications.

  • Stagger replacement armor early: Because heavy tanks move slowly, queue your second tank as soon as your lead tank takes heavy structural damage. Staging replacements in advance prevents your frontline from collapsing when the lead vehicle falls.
  • Keep anti-tank units screened: Never allow rocket infantry to run ahead of your armor. If your lead tank is destroyed and the line breaks, hold back your next heavy deployment, deploy fresh infantry waves to stall the counter-push, and rebuild the formation.
  • Save tactical strikes for clusters: Do not spend air strikes or artillery call-ins on isolated enemy vehicles. Target large clusters of infantry and armored transports when they bottleneck near the opposing base gate.
  • Focus down the base structure: Once your forces arrive at the hostile headquarters, maintain a continuous flow of cheap infantry to draw defensive fire away from your tanks until the base is destroyed.
