Zombie Night Terror: How to Complete the Kill the Cannibal Challenge

To complete the optional "Kill the cannibal" challenge in Level 1-08 of Zombie Night Terror, you must divert an infected unit across the starting rooftop gap, blast through the floorboards to enter the adjacent building, and breach the cannibal's locked room before finishing the stage.

Default horde pathfinding bypasses the cannibal entirely by steering your zombies down the main stairwells toward street-level victims. Reaching him requires splitting your horde immediately at the start of the level.

Step-by-Step Challenge Walkthrough

Follow this sequence from the start of Level 1-08 to reach and eliminate the cannibal:

1. Launch across the building chasm: At the start of the level, watch your lead zombie break out onto the roof. Trigger a jump mutation right at the roof's edge (around the five-second mark) to throw the lead zombie across the gap onto the next building's roof.
2. Contain the main horde: Use an Overlord redirect on the roof behind the jumper to prevent the remaining zombies from jumping blindly off the ledge into the alley.
3. Clear the downward path: Once your forward runner lands on the adjacent rooftop, locate the destructible floor surface below the landing zone. Detonate a Bomber mutation on this section to blast through the barrier and open a vertical drop into the interior corridor.
4. Drop reinforcements: Ensure at least one additional zombie follows the runner down the breached opening. Entering the corridor with multiple units prevents a single zombie from being picked off before landing a hit.
5. Breach the cannibal's room: Break through the interior door blocking the cannibal's room. Swarm him with your zombies to overpower his melee attack and confirm the kill.

Post-Challenge Cleanup

Eliminating the cannibal completes the side objective, but you must still clear the stage:

• Conserve your DNA: Do not overspend mutation points on the upper roofs. Sticking to the required jump and single Bomber leaves enough DNA to manage the lower levels.
• Reroute to remaining humans: After the cannibal is dead, redirect your surviving units downward through the interior stairwells to infect the remaining civilian population and finish Level 1-08.
