To clear the Fast and Ravenous challenge on The Speedrunners level in Zombie Night Terror, you must eliminate all human survivors and complete the stage in under 1 minute and 20 seconds (1m20s). Standard walker zombies move too slowly to catch alerted humans before the clock expires. Completing the run requires instantly mutating a lead Runner, breaking interior barricades within three hits, and redirecting your horde with Overlords to cut off fleeing targets.
Target Split Times
Use these phase targets to monitor your pace throughout the run. If your horde falls behind schedule at the first barrier, restart immediately.
| Stage Phase | Target Elapsed Time | Primary Objective |
|---|---|---|
| Initial Breakout | 0:00 – 0:18 | Infect the forward civilian and mutate a lead Runner immediately. |
| First Interior Breach | 0:19 – 0:38 | Destroy the first barricaded door in three hits. |
| Mid-Level Redirection | 0:39 – 0:58 | Place an Overlord to route zombies down vertical shafts. |
| Final Cleanup Sweep | 0:59 – 1:15 | Intercept sprinting survivors near the lower exit zone. |
Step 1: Open with an Immediate Runner
- Inject the civilian closest to the forward path right as the level starts without pausing to watch movement patterns.
- Mutate that first infected unit into a Runner the moment it turns.
- Do not spend initial DNA mutating multiple walkers. Keeping your resources concentrated on a single vanguard unit pushes panic forward along a direct path and prevents fleeing civilians from gaining distance.
Step 2: Clear Barricades Using the Three-Hit Rule
Barricades and heavy doors cause massive delays if basic walkers bump against them randomly. To stay under the 1m20s threshold, your lead unit must break through physical barriers within three strikes.
- Direct your lead vanguard straight to the barrier face so collision boxes do not obstruct attack registration.
- Apply strength mutations right upon contact to guarantee the door shatters in three hits.
- Input your directional commands behind the door before the third strike lands so trailing units sprint straight through the opening without stalling.
- Restart Condition: If a door requires more than three hits, crowd congestion bleeds four to seven seconds from your time. Restart the level if this occurs.
Step 3: Intercept Survivors with Overlords
Human speedrunners on this stage match or exceed standard zombie movement speed once alerted. Chasing them from behind across corridors will fail the time limit.
- Place an Overlord at key corridor intersections and drops.
- Route your fastest units down parallel shafts and side paths rather than following the human's exact trail.
- Cut off the runner's exit trajectory so they sprint directly into an oncoming ambush at the next doorway.
Step 4: Execute the Final Cleanup Sweep
In the final stretch, survivors congregate near the lower escape zone.
- Spend all remaining DNA points converting trailing zombies into secondary Runners to catch any remaining stragglers.
- Avoid conventional ladder climbing animations when pursuing humans down vertical shafts, as climbing slows movement. Use directed drops, leaps, or explosions to bypass ladders entirely.
- A clean execution finishes between 1:08 and 1:15, clearing the stage safely below the 1m20s limit.
