To build an efficient settlement in Avatar: Realms Collide, divide your base into distinct functional districts—civic, military, and production—while securing your perimeter and leaving open road corridors for future expansion. Organizing by function eliminates map clutter, speeds up routine resource collection, and keeps troop training synchronized.

Divide Your Territory into Core Districts

Placing related structures next to one another ensures you can manage daily collections and upgrades without repeatedly scrolling across your territory.

Organize your available space into three operational zones:

  • Civic and Command Hub: Position your main hall and primary administrative facilities in the center of your territory. Placing command structures at the core creates a clear visual anchor and provides quick access to high-priority upgrades.
  • Military District: Cluster your barracks, training grounds, and tactical stations together. Keeping training structures side by side allows you to queue reinforcements rapidly across all unit types.
  • Production Quarter: Arrange farms, lumber mills, and secondary resource generators in neat, parallel rows. Grouping identical production buildings makes idle nodes immediately noticeable and simplifies batch harvesting.

Fortify Boundaries and Establish Transit Corridors

After establishing your core zones, reinforce your outer borders and connect each sector using intentional pathways. A structured road layout maintains visual order and provides the spacing needed to rearrange facilities as your city expands.

  1. Establish primary avenues: Run wide, straight boulevards from your outer gates directly to the central command hall. Keep these main arteries clear of small utility buildings to preserve unobstructed lines of sight.
  2. Branch secondary pathways: Lay narrower walkways off the central avenue to connect individual workshops, resource nodes, and quiet courtyard spaces. Leaving single- or double-tile gaps between building clusters prevents overcrowding and gives you room to insert new event structures later.
  3. Anchor exterior defenses: Position defensive checkpoints, walls, and observation bastions along outer corridors. Placing durable military structures near entryways funnels movement through designated choke points.
  4. Create layered internal tiers: Build inner walls or courtyards between your resource farms and central palace. This tiered separation protects vital command infrastructure behind secondary lines while giving your base a fortified appearance.

Rezone When Expanding into New Land

As you unlock new territory parcels, avoid immediately filling the newly claimed land with low-level utility buildings. Instead, use newly annexed frontier space to relocate large military complexes or build dedicated garden sanctuaries. Periodically shifting secondary structures outward allows you to expand your central civic square, extend defensive perimeters, and keep your production grids organized as your city grows.
