In Bloons TD Battles, the tier-four 0-4 Dart Monkey upgrade, Super Monkey Fan Club (SMFC), temporarily transforms up to ten on-screen Dart Monkeys into high-damage Plasma Super Monkeys for 15 seconds. To use it effectively, group your Dart Monkeys around a key track curve, hold the ability until incoming blimps reach your core firing zone, and manage the 45-second cooldown against follow-up rushes.

How the Ability Functions

Purchasing the 0-4 path upgrade costs $8,000. When activated, the ability selects the ten Dart Monkeys closest to the 0-4 tower and grants them the rapid attack speed and pierce of a Plasma Super Monkey. This setup delivers high-tier burst damage without requiring the massive cash investment needed to buy multiple true Super Monkeys.

The transformation is strictly capped at ten Dart Monkeys. Any additional Dart Monkeys on the map will continue firing their standard projectiles without receiving the plasma buff.

Dart Monkey Setup and Upgrades

Because the ability prioritizes the monkeys nearest to the 0-4 tower, cluster your support monkeys tightly around track bends where projectiles can cross multiple lanes or track sections.

Tailor the surrounding Dart Monkeys based on your defense needs:

  • Triple Darts (2-3): Provides reliable cleanup against regular bloons and grouped ceramics while the fan club ability is on cooldown.
  • Enhanced Eyesight (0-2 or 2-2): Equips transformed monkeys with native Camo detection. If your monkeys lack this upgrade and you have no external decamo tower, the plasma shots cannot target Camo Leads or Camo-boosted bloons.
  • Base Darts (0-0): Serves as an emergency, low-cost option. If an opponent rushes when your cash is depleted, placing base Dart Monkeys near the 0-4 tower still allows them to transform into full-strength plasma shooters.

Activation Timing Against MOABs and BFBs

Triggering the ability prematurely will cause your defense to fail. If you activate SMFC while a MOAB or BFB is still at the track entrance, the 15-second timer will expire before the blimp breaks into ceramic internals, leaving your standard towers exposed to fast inner bloons.

Wait until the lead blimp enters the primary range of your clustered Dart Monkeys before pressing the ability. Concentrated plasma fire will rapidly crack the outer blimp shell, leaving enough remaining ability duration to wipe out the interior ceramic bloons before they escape your choke point.

Managing the Cooldown and Late-Game Rushes

The main vulnerability of the Super Monkey Fan Club is its 45-second cooldown. Opponents often send a single fast-cooldown MOAB on Round 18 or later to bait out your ability, followed immediately by a heavy BFB or ZOMG rerush once the effect ends.

To survive prolonged rushes and tough ZOMGs, use these defensive tactics:

  1. Slow the Rush: Place a 0-4 Ninja Monkey to use Sabotage Supply Lines, or use an Ice Monkey. Slowing blimps keeps them inside your plasma kill zone for the full 15-second burst.
  2. Stack Tower Boost: Activating a Tower Boost during the ability multiplies the attack speed of all ten transformed monkeys, which is critical for cracking dense ZOMG shells.
  3. Sell and Re-buy: If caught without an active ability during a lethal rerush, sell your depleted 0-4 Dart Monkey and immediately purchase the 0-4 upgrade on an adjacent Dart Monkey to reset the ability cooldown instantly.
