To beat Level 52 in CubeAway, dismantle the zigzag staircase formation from the outside edges inward. Tapping center blocks early triggers collisions because neighboring risers sit directly along their flight paths. You must first clear the free-pointing outward arrows located at the highest and lowest ends of the diagonal steps to open flight lanes for the interlocking core.

1. Clear the Terminal Outer Steps

The diagonal staircase geometry wraps across multiple cube faces, creating alternating directional dependencies. The terminal blocks at the extreme ends of the zigzag tiers have the fewest structural connections and feature arrows pointing away into open space.

  1. Rotate to the tips: Turn the puzzle until you locate the highest and lowest terminal steps of the staircase.
  2. Check the vector: Confirm the candidate block's arrow points away from the entire puzzle silhouette with no projecting risers in its exit lane.
  3. Eject anchor blocks: Tap these outward-pointing end blocks to shorten the zigzag chain and expose the sides of the next inward tier.

2. Rotate the View to Spot Perpendicular Lanes

A single viewing angle flattens the diagonal steps, hiding gaps and masking whether an arrow has a clean exit path. Regularly rotate the formation across both horizontal and vertical axes after each clear.

Look directly down the channels between alternating risers. Many blocks that appear trapped from a straight-on angle actually face perpendicular to the slope of the staircase and have completely unobstructed exit trajectories.

3. Peel the Interlocking Core

Once the outer terminal steps are gone, work systematically down the diagonal slope. Removing one riser unblocks the flight line for the arrow pointing into its rear face.

Mid PhaseExposed stair risersBreak alternating lock chainsPerpendicular to staircase slope
Final PhaseCentral core remnantsClear remaining base blocksUnobstructed open vectors

If no unblocked block is visible along your current clearing chain, rotate the puzzle to the opposite side of the staircase. Clearing an exposed riser on the opposing end usually frees the stalled sequence.

4. Dismantle Opposing Core Pairs

The final remnants form a small cluster at the base of the original staircase. These leftover core blocks often face each other in tight, opposing pairs.

Inspect each remaining block before tapping. Identify the block whose arrow points away into empty space and tap it first. Clearing that outward block leaves its reciprocal partner fully exposed for the final tap to finish the stage.
