Posing and Spatial Positioning in Studio Mode

Studio mode allows you to assemble multiple characters within a single scene. To convey emotional states effectively—such as a character resting during an illness scene—avoid default standing positions. Select seated or reclined options that reflect vulnerability or physical fatigue.

To align character interactions smoothly, use the Adjust menu:

• X and Y Axes: Shift character coordinates horizontally and vertically to ground them in the scene and remove any floating appearance.
• Limb Rotation: Rotate arms and legs so characters physically interact with their environment, such as leaning against a bed frame or placing a hand on another character's forehead.

Customizing Facial Expressions and Accessory Layers

Visual storytelling relies heavily on subtle facial cues to show emotion without relying entirely on text.

1. Face Customization: Open the Face menu to alter eyes, eyebrows, and mouth options. For sick or distressed states, pair downturned or droopy eye presets with a flat or downturned mouth.
2. Accessory Placement: Open the Extra tab to add context items like clinical masks or sweat droplets.
3. Scale and Rotation: Select head accessories and adjust their scale and rotation. For example, shrinking and positioning a colored accessory onto a character's forehead can represent a cold compress.

Setting Backgrounds and Formatting Text Boxes

Select a background that immediately establishes your scene's setting, such as a domestic bedroom or medical clinic interior.

Once your scene layout is complete, set up dialogue using the Chat feature:

• Speaker Attribution: Fill out the Name and Text fields for each character to keep dialogue distinct.
• Screen Placement: Position text boxes at the bottom of the frame to keep main character sprites fully visible.
• Pacing: Keep text lines brief so the visual interaction remains the primary focus.

Managing Visual Framing and Color Palette Tone

Maintain consistent visual rules across sequential scenes to preserve narrative cohesion:

• Color Tone: Use the Color editor to mute bright outfit tones during somber or dramatic moments. Vibrant neon palettes can create visual dissonance during serious beats.
• Character Scale and Depth: Adjust character scale to define focus. Place secondary or caregiving characters slightly off-center or in the foreground, while keeping the central focal character slightly scaled back to establish visual depth.
