To beat Level 147 in Gardenscapes, focus on clearing the central and bottom obstacles first to trigger piece cascades, then create and combine explosive power-ups to uncover every hidden garden gnome within the move limit.

Clear the Central Bottlenecks Early

Level 147 divides the playing area with grass-covered tiles and uneven pathways that choke piece drops. Basic three-piece matches in the upper corners or along isolated edges do not shift enough board elements to clear the level before your moves expire.

During your first few turns, prioritize moves that decompress the grid:

  • Target multi-layered obstacles: Prioritize matches that damage double-layered grass or clear adjacent blockers to expand open space.
  • Match low on the grid: Making matches near the base of the board shifts the largest number of pieces above, creating passive cascading matches as fresh apples, leaves, and water droplets fall in.
  • Avoid low-impact matches: Skip isolated three-piece matches high on the board unless they directly hit an obstacle or align a four-piece match.

Opening the center and bottom early creates the tile space needed to spawn multi-piece power-ups.

Craft and Combine Explosive Power-Ups

Standard matches remove grass too slowly to expose every gnome footprint. You must actively set up four- and five-piece combinations to generate explosives that clear wide patches across double grass layers.

Power-UpCreation RequirementPrimary Strategic Use
FirecrackerMatch 4 pieces in a lineChipping single grass tiles along narrow edges and corners.
BombMatch 5 pieces in a T- or L-shapeClearing dense clusters of double-layered central grass.
DynamiteMatch 6 pieces in a T- or L-shapeSweeping large sections to reveal multi-tile gnome footprints.
Rainbow BlastFill meter by detonating explosivesRemoving a full color to drop matches directly onto remaining grass.

Whenever the board allows, detonate power-ups adjacent to one another instead of triggering them separately. Combining explosives—such as a Bomb with another Bomb or a Firecracker with Dynamite—expands the blast radius and strips double grass layers in a single turn.

Reveal Hidden Gnome Footprints

Garden gnomes are fully hidden beneath grass layers at the start of the stage and vary in size from small single-tile figures to larger multi-tile statues.

As you chip away the top grass layer, faint gnome silhouettes become visible underneath. Use these visual outlines to guide your remaining moves:

  • Once an edge is revealed, avoid making single weak matches just to clear the next segment. Instead, line up perpendicular matches or drop an explosive nearby to clear the remaining tiles efficiently.
  • If a gnome piece is stuck in an awkward corner or boundary tile where matches rarely align, maneuver a Firecracker or Bomb next to it rather than waiting for favorable random tile drops.

Save Rainbow Blasts for High-Impact Clears

Detonating explosives gradually charges the Rainbow Blast meter. Avoid using a charged Rainbow Blast immediately without a clear target.

Before activating a Rainbow Blast, inspect the remaining grass patches to find which piece color surrounds or sits directly on the hidden gnomes. Selecting that dominant color removes every instance of it from the board, shifting pieces across the entire grid and frequently detonating unexploded power-ups. Use this board-wide drop to clear the final obscured gnome tiles without spending extra coins on additional moves.
