How Many Dudes? on PC is a strategic roguelike autobattler built around recruiting, managing, and combining an increasingly strange army of Dudes. Your home base is the Dude Ranch, where you assemble a team from 42 unique Dudes divided among six Dude Families: Undead Dudes, Employed Dudes, Warrior Dudes, Fantasy Dudes, Sci-Fi Dudes, and Action Dudes. The objective is not simply to collect strong individuals, but to discover team arrangements whose abilities interact in surprising and sometimes completely game-breaking ways. A Zombie Dude that explodes when struck, a Ninja Dude that launches a barrage of Shurikens, and a Cowboy Dude that lassos another Dude out of danger each solves a different battlefield problem. Building a successful lineup means considering which Dudes can deal damage, absorb it, or command other Dudes, then finding a balance that can survive the run’s escalating threats.

Act Boss victories provide Trinkets, while boss victories also award Silver and Gold stars for each Dude, giving you longer-term goals beyond simply surviving a single run. Three Tiers of Challenge add unique enemies and epic boss battles, offering additional reasons to revisit familiar Dudes and test whether a different combination of Relics, Trinkets, and roles can perform better. The Daily Dude provides a changing challenge, while Ensemble Mode lets you pre-select your dream team for a more deliberate approach to team construction.
