To construct scenes in MiniMuses Studio Mode, set your background first, lock its layer, and arrange active assets using the layer list. In this system, assets placed higher on the layer panel render in front of items lower on the list. Using incremental layer index controls and the interface list view allows you to position props and characters without visual clipping or unselectable canvas elements.

Controlling Layer Depth and Asset Order

Spatial depth in Studio Mode relies on assigning each asset to its proper layer index:

  1. Set and lock the background layer: Select your background scene before importing characters or props, then enable the lock option on the background layer to prevent accidental displacement during edits.
  2. Keep the transformation menu open: Use this menu to switch between moving, rotating, and scaling items to establish perspective.
  3. Adjust render priority: Use the Layer Up and Layer Down controls to move assets step-by-step through the vertical layer stack.

Incremental index shifts are preferable to manual canvas dragging when establishing overlap, as step-by-step adjustments preserve precise alignment.

Positioning Characters and Props Naturally

Proper placement requires connecting character models directly to scene elements:

  • Furniture alignment: Move the character model's base to match the seating coordinates of chairs or benches, or use Snap to Prop when available to prevent models from appearing detached.
  • Proportional scaling: Match prop dimensions against default character scale baselines before applying fine adjustments for visual perspective.
  • Pose sequencing: Place the character model in its intended location first, then align smaller props around the hands and feet to maintain correct focal points.

Accessing Hidden Assets and Fixing Render Glitches

When working with dense 2D scenes, layered assets can become obscured or render unevenly:

  • Select buried assets via List View: If a smaller prop is covered by a larger foreground element, click the item inside the interface list view rather than on the canvas. This selects the target without shifting overlapping layers.
  • Resolve flickering textures: Render errors occur when two objects share the exact same layer value. Assign a unique layer index to every asset in the scene to ensure the engine processes visual order reliably.
