Mortal Kombat on PC brings the series’ iconic fighters, lore, and visceral presentation into a collection-driven fighting game built around fast 3v3 battles. Rather than controlling a single combatant through one continuous story, you assemble a team from a roster of more than 150 fighters drawn from the arcade era, MK3, MKX, MK11, and the New Era of Mortal Kombat 1. Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kitana, Shang Tsung, and other familiar kombatants are joined by mobile-exclusive variants such as the Kombat Cup Team and guest fighters including Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and the Terminator. The core loop is direct: choose a trio, enter a match, use each fighter’s unique attacks, tag between teammates, defeat the opposing team, and earn experience that improves your fighters and their attacks. Abilities such as Sindel’s Banshee Scream and Kabal’s Dash and Hook give each character a distinct role, while team combinations such as the MK11 team or Day of the Dead team encourage you to think about synergy instead of simply selecting the strongest individual fighters.

The card-collection structure gives the combat a longer-term management layer. You expand your Kollection through weekly Team Challenges, which ask you to complete a series of matches to add warriors such as Jade, Sub-Zero, and Goro, then spend time leveling and developing the fighters you use most. Gear is another important part of that process, particularly for Diamond fighters, because equipping the right items can unlock signature finishers such as Kitana’s Friendship or Nightwolf’s Skull Cracker Brutality. The Kombat Pass adds another progression route, rewarding specific objectives with Souls, Dragon Krystals, and other prizes while allowing featured Gold fighters such as Warlock Quan Chi and Aftershock Tremor to become stronger and gain access to a Brutality. Feats of Strength extend progression beyond battle performance: completing character-specific objectives unlocks profile and victory customizations, lets you design a War Banner, and can provide Kombat stat bonuses.

Several modes give that collection and team-building loop different goals. In single-player lore-based Tower events, you fight upward through themed levels, defeat bosses such as Scorpion in the Shirai Ryu Tower, Sub-Zero in the Lin Kuei Tower, and Johnny Cage in the Action Movie Tower, then claim exclusive tower-themed Equipment and other rewards. Fatal versions raise the challenge for players who want a more demanding climb. Shang Tsung’s Krypt shifts the emphasis toward exploration and choice. You select your own route through the map, push beyond the Fog, fight through encounters, and collect Krypt Hearts and Konsumables that can unlock featured Diamond Fighters and Equipment. These systems make resource decisions matter: the rewards you pursue can determine which teams you can strengthen and which gear combinations become available.

Faction Wars provides the competitive layer, matching your team against other players’ teams in an online arena. Winning duels raises your Faction’s leaderboard position and contributes toward seasonal prizes, so roster depth, reliable combinations, and careful fighter development matter over time. On PC, the larger display is useful when comparing a broad roster, reviewing each fighter’s attacks and Gear, and checking team combinations before committing to a battle. Keyboard-and-mouse input can also make repeated collection and management tasks easier to handle, from moving through the Krypt map and selecting paths to navigating event menus, evaluating objectives, and quickly choosing the next fighter or action during a 3v3 match. The result is a Mortal Kombat experience centered on building a personalized Kollection, refining complementary teams, and taking them through towers, challenges, the Krypt, and Faction Wars.
