You enter with a goal, respond to the threats and opportunities in front of you, and try to turn each successful encounter into an advantage for the next floor. A failed attempt can end with your character becoming one of the tower’s many phantoms, but the broader structure encourages you to learn from every run and continue building toward a successful ascent.

The most important combat consideration is the elemental system. Each class has access to different elements, and combining those elements can trigger powerful reactions, particularly during the early stages when those effects may be decisive in defeating your foes. That gives fights a tactical layer beyond simply attacking as quickly as possible: you need to recognize which elemental options are available to your class and use reactions whenever the situation allows. Between battles, Tower Blessings provide additional help, while mysterious Glyphs can be unlocked to enhance your character and unleash hidden powers. Fallen monsters also provide materials that you can harvest for crafting, letting you forge weapons, armor, and artifacts that improve your character’s stats. Every piece of gear has its own ability, so the Blacksmith is an important place to review available equipment and consider which upgrade best suits your current needs. On PC, a larger display makes it easier to read combat information, compare the abilities and stat benefits of different gear pieces, and keep track of the choices involved in elemental reactions, blessings, and glyphs. Keyboard-and-mouse controls also give you more direct handling during rapid action sequences, while making repeated menu actions—such as checking the Blacksmith, selecting equipment, or managing the results of a run—more precise.
