To get Ascended Candles in Sky: Children of the Light, you must enter the Eye of Eden's final area—the Point of No Return—and donate your collected Winged Light to statues of fallen children. Each statue you light absorbs one piece of Winged Light and awards 0.25 of an Ascended Candle upon your rebirth in Orbit.
There are 63 statues located throughout the storm, allowing a maximum weekly yield of 15.75 Ascended Candles. Eden resets every Sunday at 00:00 PST. Statues you have already lit remain inactive until the reset. You can run Eden multiple times within the same week to rescue statues you missed on a previous attempt, but you cannot collect currency from the same statue twice in one reset cycle.
Controls and Movement in the Storm
Navigating the rock showers in the Point of No Return requires precise movement. Strong atmospheric winds disable normal flight mechanics and push your character downward, so stay on the ground.
- Control configuration: On mobile devices, switch to Two-Handed control mode in the settings menu. This separates camera orientation from character movement, allowing you to watch falling debris cycles while steering toward statues.
- Locomotion: Use grounded running and short, controlled hops. High jumps trigger floating animations that leave you vulnerable to wind turbulence and direct projectile hits.
- Light loss and crawling: Taking damage from red rocks strips your cape energy. Once your light reaches zero, your character enters a slow crawling state. Always direct your crawl forward toward the nearest active statue rather than trying to retreat.
| Traversal Element | Recommended Action | Hazard Mitigation |
|---|---|---|
| Control Scheme | Two-Handed mode | Allows simultaneous camera tracking and pathing |
| Movement Style | Grounded running and short hops | Prevents wind knockback and mid-air stagger |
| Energy Loss State | Direct crawling toward unlit statues | Guarantees light donation before total petrification |
| Environmental Cover | Hiding behind stone pillars and walls | Blocks debris impacts and splash damage |
Statue Routing Across the Three Sections
The Point of No Return contains three distinct zones with increasing environmental danger. Work through them sequentially to reach as many statues as possible before losing all your light.
- The Entry (13 Statues): Red rock showers in this zone fall in predictable cycles, alternating between several seconds of heavy rain and short pauses. Wait behind stone barriers until the barrage stops, sprint out to light one or two statues and nearby lanterns, then take cover behind the next wall before the rain resumes.
- The Midfield (20 Statues): This area contains red crystal clusters and dark water pools. Red crystals drain energy on contact, and water slows your movement. Clear statues along the outer edges first, using stone pillars for cover. If traveling with another player, stand close to mutually recharge cape light between cycles.
- The Deep Storm (30 Statues): The final section features continuous, non-stop rock rain with no safe pauses. Damage is unavoidable here. Stop waiting for clear windows and move continuously across the field in a zigzag pattern, lighting statues as you pass them. When reduced to a crawl, push directly into dense clusters to deposit your remaining Winged Light.
Surviving Rock Rain Cycles
During the first two sections, visual and audio cues signal incoming danger:
- Identify rock cycles: Screen shaking and a loud rumble signal an impending volley. The debris shower typically lasts six to ten seconds. Stay behind shelter until the sound fades.
- Recharge at permanent light sources: Light all torches, lanterns, and braziers along your route. Standing near active light sources rapidly refills your cape energy.
- Use deep calls with partners: Emitting a sustained call (deep honk) while standing next to a companion recharges their light shields, keeping both players mobile across open stretches.
- Avoid crystal ground: Do not stand in puddles or near red crystal patches while waiting out rock cycles, as corrupted ground drains your light independently of projectile hits.
Ascended Candle Spending Priorities
Ascended Candles unlock account progression upgrades rather than standard cosmetic items:
- Traveling Spirit Wing Buffs: Traveling Spirits arrive every two weeks and stay for four days. Unlocking the winged lock on their friendship tree costs two to three Ascended Candles and permanently grants an additional Winged Light upon every future rebirth in Orbit.
- Standard Constellation Wing Buffs: Spend Ascended Candles on the locked nodes of regular constellation spirits from the six main realms. These permanently raise your starting Winged Light count each time you emerge from Orbit.
- Friendship Tree Nodes: Use remaining candles to unlock advanced friendship interactions, such as Warp and Piggyback, with frequent play partners.
