To clear both waves of the Rise of the Empire (RotE) Tatooine combat mission in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, run a high-relic Jabba the Hutt squad that can withstand heavy opening damage, rapidly complete the Hutt Cartel payout, and reserve burst abilities for the second wave.
Squad Requirements and Mod Priorities
Enemy units on Tatooine feature elevated speed, offense, and tenacity alongside Overprepared modifiers. Krrsantan must withstand the enemy's opening attacks to establish his taunt, while Boushh requires high potency to ensure Thermal Detonators stick to resistant targets.
| Character | Minimum Relic | Mod Focus | Combat Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jabba the Hutt (Leader) | Relic 7 (Relic 8+ preferred) | Speed, Health, Defense | Cooldown reduction, payout bonuses, instant-defeat ultimate |
| Krrsantan | Relic 7 | Protection, Defense sets | Main tank, initial damage soak, buff retention |
| Boushh (Leia Organa) | Relic 7 | Speed, Potency sets | Thermal Detonator distribution, turn meter generation |
| Skiff Guard (Lando Calrissian) | Relic 7 | Speed, Offense sets | Cleansing debuffs, applying Armor Shred, burst damage |
| Boba Fett or Embo | Relic 7 | Critical Chance, Critical Damage | Dispel enemy buffs, ability blocks, burst finisher |
Wave 1 Strategy: Contract Setup and Cooldown Management
The priority in Wave 1 is triggering your leader contract and preparing your squad to enter Wave 2 with fully charged abilities.
- Survive the Initial Volley: Allow Krrsantan to absorb the opening attacks. On your first turn, reapply his taunt and defense buffs if the enemy dispelled them.
- Target High-Damage Threats: Direct your attacks toward squishier offensive supports, commanders, or snipers first. Avoid attacking enemy units that have active counter-attack or retaliation mechanics until they are dazed or stunned.
- Spread Thermal Detonators: Use Boushh’s special abilities to apply detonators across the field. Detonator explosions deal true damage based on health, bypassing inflated armor stats.
- Stack Armor Shred: Have Skiff Guard Lando place Armor Shred on high-health targets to speed up eliminations.
- Conserve Cooldowns for the Transition: Once the wave is down to one or two weakened hostiles, switch entirely to basic attacks. Complete the wave without activating Jabba’s ultimate ability or key specials so your squad enters Wave 2 with full turn meter and ready cooldowns.
Wave 2 Strategy: Eliminating Elite Threats
Wave 2 introduces elite commanders capable of dealing lethal damage chains. Immediate target control determines whether you secure the full 2/2 clear.
- Activate Jabba’s Ultimate: Target the most dangerous elite enemy or support commander immediately with Jabba's ultimate ability to remove them from combat.
- Control Secondary Attackers: Use Boushh to apply blind or daze to fast secondary attackers, shutting down enemy assist chains.
- Strip Buffs and Taunts: If an enemy tank taunts, dispel it using Boba Fett’s Execute or Skiff Guard Lando’s kit. Thermal Detonators will continue dealing damage across all targets regardless of taunt redirection.
- Maintain Krrsantan's Protection: Refresh Krrsantan’s bonus protection and taunt while methodically eliminating the remaining targets.
Critical Failure Points
- Using Jabba's Ultimate in Wave 1: Expending your ultimate to defeat the last enemy in Wave 1 leaves you without your primary removal tool against the elite enemies opening Wave 2.
- Low Potency on Boushh: If Boushh lacks sufficient potency, enemy tenacity will resist her Thermal Detonators, stalling both damage output and team turn meter.
- Under-geared Krrsantan: Bringing Krrsantan below Relic 7 often leads to him dying in the opening enemy volley before your team takes a turn.
- Premature Retaliation Attacks: Hitting enemies with active counter-attacks before controlling them with stun or daze can eliminate Boushh or Lando prematurely. Focus solely on incapacitated or non-countering targets.
