Viking Rise: How to Awaken Legendary Mounts

To awaken a mount in Viking Rise, you must fully rank up a Legendary (gold tier) beast to its maximum star rating in the Pasture, open its Awakening menu, and consume the required duplicate copies or specific mount shards. Lower-tier mounts cannot be awakened.

Prerequisites and Eligibility

Awakening is an endgame upgrade locked strictly to gold-tier beasts. Rare and Epic mounts cannot access the awakening interface.

Before the awakening option unlocks, you must complete every standard star promotion and level upgrade on your chosen Legendary mount. If the beast has remaining base star tiers to unlock, the Awakening tab remains restricted.

Required Materials and Preparation

Awakening consumes duplicate copies or dedicated shards of that specific mount line. Because Legendary beasts are difficult to acquire, manage your inventory carefully:

• Save targeted shards: Focus summon items, exchange tokens, and golden mount chests on the single beast assigned to your primary march rather than spreading resources across multiple species.
• Keep duplicate copies: Do not recycle, trade, or consume spare copies of your core combat mounts for routine rank-ups, as those duplicates are required to fill the awakening gauge.
• Stockpile training items: Gather Pasture EXP and rank materials ahead of time so the mount can reach max stars immediately upon acquisition.

Step-by-Step Awakening Process

Once your Legendary mount is capped at maximum stars and you have gathered the required duplicates, complete the process inside your settlement:

1. Enter the Pasture: Select your territory's Pasture building and open the mount roster.
2. Choose your mount: Filter by Legendary quality and select the maximum-star beast you want to advance.
3. Open the Awakening tab: Select the Awakening option located on the mount's primary attribute screen.
4. Select materials: Insert the required duplicate mount copies or shards into the activation slot. Ensure you do not submit a duplicate currently assigned to an active preset.
5. Confirm awakening: Select the confirmation prompt to finish the evolution.

Once awakened, the mount gains an awakened badge, an updated visual frame, and its Awakening Skill.

Awakening Benefits and Strategic Priorities

Awakening provides two major upgrades to your march:

• Awakening Skill: Unlocks a specialized combat skill featuring active combat triggers, such as area-of-effect damage, damage mitigation shields at low health, or rage generation boosts for the leading commander.
• Expanded Troop Attributes: Raises the percentage bonus caps for assigned unit types, including Infantry, Pikemen, Archer, and Cavalry formations.

Where to Invest First

Because duplicate Legendary materials are limited, awaken mounts in an order that matches your current account build:

• Primary March First: Awaken the mount that matches your most heavily researched troop type and strongest commander pairing. If you focus on Infantry, finish your primary Infantry mount before spending resources on other unit types.
• Rally Leaders: Prioritize mounts that provide rally-wide damage buffs or garrison defense bonuses, which benefit all participating alliance members during shared combat.
• Avoid Splitting Resources: Fully awakening one mount provides significantly higher combat value than partially investing across several secondary marches. Complete your primary beast before starting another.
