To defeat Niflung Leaders and complete Chapter 26 in Viking Rise, launch or join an alliance rally rather than attacking alone. Niflung Leaders possess heavy defense, large health pools, and area-of-effect skills that overpower solo marches, resulting in lost stamina and severe hospital overfill.

If your Chief Hall or War Tent provides a low rally capacity, have a stronger tribe member initiate the rally instead. Joining an ally's rally with your strongest march still awards the required quest credit for Chapter 26.

Rally Setup and Preparation

Locate a valid Niflung Leader camp using the kingdom map search filter to ensure the target matches your quest requirements. Coordinate in alliance chat before marching to ensure active members can reinforce the squad.

Rally ElementRecommended SettingPurpose
Rally Timer5 to 10 minutesGives nearby allies enough time to march without stalling
Target DistanceUnder 10 km from hiveMinimizes travel duration and counter-attack risks
Troop TierTier 3 (T3) or higherMeets the damage requirement and cuts battle casualties
Participation2 to 3 active joiners minimumFills march capacity to reach the necessary damage output

Check rally participation before your force departs. If turnout is too low to defeat the boss, cancel the rally early to preserve your chief stamina.

Commander Selection and Troop Matching

Lead rallies with combat commanders that enhance march speed, general attack, and neutral unit damage.

  • Primary Commanders: Deploy combat-focused leaders such as Ragnar, Bjorn, or Ivor. Never use utility or gathering commanders as rally leads.
  • Secondary Commanders: Pair the leader with a defensive hero capable of shielding or sustaining your squad through heavy skill phases.
  • Unit Specialization: Match your march entirely to your primary commander's specialized troop type, such as infantry, pikemen, or cavalry. Mixing troop types dilutes talent buffs.
  • Troops to Exclude: Do not send siege units or low-tier filler troops. Siege engines slow rally march speeds and deliver poor damage against neutral bosses.

Preventing Troop Losses and Managing Stamina

Fighting Niflung Leaders carries significant casualty risks. Before marching, confirm that your base Hospital and Tribe Infirmary have sufficient open beds. If your hospital capacity maxes out during the encounter, any surplus wounded units die permanently.

Stamina spent launching an attack is lost if the rally wipes. Preserve stamina by using recovery items only during active tribe rally sessions. Keep healing speedups and base resources on hand to restore injured troops immediately after the fight concludes.

Handling Chapter 26 Milestone Rewards

Defeating the required Niflung Leaders completes Chapter 26, awarding universal speedups and millions of resources in Food, Wood, Stone, and Gold.

Keep these resource rewards stored as inventory item packs rather than claiming them immediately as raw currency. Stored resource packs cannot be scouted or looted by enemy players during kingdom battles. When ready to upgrade, invest these resources directly into Academy research, your War Tent, and your Barracks to expand your permanent march capacity and unlock higher-tier troops.
