The setting is a timeless Westeros at war, where great houses compete for influence, dragons dominate the skies, and the army of the dead threatens the realm. Your long-term objective is to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, but reaching that goal requires more than simply sending soldiers into battle. You must strengthen your castle’s defenses, prepare an army of knights and other troops, research technologies at the Maester’s Tower, and craft weapons, armor, and trinkets at the Forge. It gives you more room to review your castle defenses, troop preparation, Maester’s Tower research, and Forge crafting while comparing the needs of a developing kingdom. A mouse also suits the repeated selection and management involved in choosing heroes, assigning them to armies, checking their contributions to battle and building stats, and tending to your dragon. During kingdom-versus-kingdom wars, the added screen space can make it easier to keep the larger objective in view as you and your allies fight for Seats of Power such as Winterfell, King’s Landing, Dragonstone, and Castle Black. Those conflicts are massive PvP battles and tournaments in which coordination matters as much as individual strength, so alliance planning is an important part of the war loop.

There is more to the campaign than competing with other kingdoms. You can send your empire’s troops and dragon North of the Wall to face unyielding monsters in time-limited instances including The Great Ranging and Titans of the North. These encounters test your kingdom’s strength, strategy, and coordination while offering loot to support continued growth.
