Infinite Galaxy on PC is a free-to-play real-time space strategy game set in Galaxy Year 4649, after a long war has left the Old Federation defeated and the Empire’s rule close to collapse. Its setting is a fractured, dangerous galaxy where private merchants, space pirates, and rebel groups move through broken borders while rumors spread about warships left behind by an ancient space race. You take the role of a Commander building influence in this unstable frontier. Your first responsibility is to repair your Spaceport, but the larger goal is to develop a powerful base, assemble fleets, defeat threats, explore the universe, and decide how to work with other Commanders as the Empire prepares a counterattack. The story is framed as a space epic, but its foundation is the steady strategic work of turning a damaged foothold into a center of operations capable of supporting an enormous fleet.

The core loop begins in the Spaceport, where you can construct and upgrade facilities, research technology, and recruit crew members. Each crew member has a personal history and can serve as a deputy or staff member, or join a fleet expedition, giving the people in your base a role beyond simply filling a roster. From there, you build up to 30 types of Spaceships and organize them into fleets, with every fleet led by a powerful flagship. Flagships have distinct appearances and skills, and collecting their blueprints is a major part of long-term progression; blueprints can be found through ancient space relics, campaign missions, and stages in the Empire’s fortress. That gives exploration and combat a direct connection to your ability to expand your fleet. Space pirates provide immediate enemies to overcome, while the wider universe offers ancient secrets and information about the unknown past of the Federation and Empire. Exploration is therefore not just a backdrop: it is one of the ways you uncover the setting and pursue new opportunities for your command.

The multiplayer layer places your choices in a shared galaxy where millions of Commanders can compete or cooperate in real time. You can create or join an alliance, call on allies to deploy attack and defense strategies, protect your position, and confront hostile enemies together. Success depends on combining the development of your Spaceport and crew with sensible fleet preparation and alliance coordination, rather than treating every challenge as an isolated battle. On PC, a larger display gives you more room to examine your Spaceport facilities, follow fleet activity, read the information surrounding combat and missions, and compare flagship skills or blueprint goals without crowding the rest of the interface. Keyboard-and-mouse input is also well suited to repeated management tasks: selecting buildings to upgrade, moving through exploration and campaign screens, organizing fleets, and reviewing crew assignments can feel more deliberate when you can point precisely and navigate with familiar controls.
